Former President Donald Trump took a swipe at Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis at a rally on Saturday night referring to him as "Ron DeSanctimonious" in what could be a sign of growing tension between the two potential presidential candidates.

When is he going to exhibit some testosterone like Trump and declare?

What Pope Florida should do is undeclare. Make it clear that he is NOT running in '24. In a way I hope Desanctimonios is stupid enough to get crushed by Trump. I think Lake is the AD ( After Donald ) future and not Pope Ron.

Low blow for Trump to attack DeSantis on the eve on his election. Further proof Trump actually cares more about himself than America. And I used to be a huge supporter of Trump. But we live and learn.

Joe O'Dea went on CNN last week and trashed Trump and supported DeSantis for president. Many of our candidates in next weeks election are tied to Trump.

A couple of days later, DeSantis returns the favor and endorses the anti Trumper Bushbot, Joe O'Dea who trashed Trump and by extension our many MAGA candidates.

And Trump RESPONED.

Yes I knew they certainly try. And I knew that the moment he locked up the nomination. How did I know it? Let me count the ways.

I lived through the DC GOP (i.e. George H.W. Bush) killing the Reagan Revolution by reversing his signature policies. I lived through the DC GOP undermining their own contract with America and then jettisoning it and the architect of it and their only political successes in the 90s Newt Gingrich. I lived through the the DC GOP marginalizing, undermining, and neutralizing the tea party. I Watched DC GOP stalwart Mitch McConnell undermining conservative Senate candidates in favor of center-left "moderates" who were more to his liking. And then when Trump was running I watched them desperately trying to figure out how to not nominate him at the convention (including lining up Ted Cruz to be their proxy in asking delegates to not vote for him).

The D.C. GOP gave zero reason to believe they'd ever support him. History said that every single time an outsider stood up they fought them and if they won anyway, they cut them off at the knees behind the scenes. Every time they gave us a crap candidate like Mitt Romney and told conservatives "the fight is over now it's time to support the candidate" I believed in my heart that if one of OUR candidates had overcome them then they would not be living up to that mantra. And lo, they fully met my expectation and then some.

I will say that I didn't expect the GOP controlled house to throw the election in 2018 to the dems, nor did I expect them to support the fake Mueller investigation (which we know they knew was fake) going so far as to suggest that if Trump fired the AG they'd consider impeaching him. And I certainly didn't expect they'd participate in what happened in Nov 2020. So they still did manage to surprise me.

Trump is in Miami tomorrow. Will look bad for des to not be there. But he turned trump down

When has he expressed any solidarity with Trump since he got elected governor with Trump’s help?

FreeReign, in all of our many years on this site together, I don’t think we’ve ever disagreed on anything, but as I see it we are just a couple of days away from the 2022 election, and if Trump doesn’t have anything good to say about our current 2022 candidates, especially proven conservatives like DeSantis, he needs to STFU.

Attacking conservatives like DeSantis on the eve of their elections indicates Trump is a shallow, selfish man, incapable of seeing the big picture beyond his own personal aspirations. Aspirations that appear to require everyone to bow before him.

Ron DeSantis is going to be somewhere else rather than Miami. Anywhere but sharing the Trump stage. That’s what I heard anyway that he is definitely avoiding Trump. Probably the $200 million DeSantis got from the swamp requires a wide buffer zone.

Yes. But that’s because it is my stuff that I own. Trump never owned the Presidency. We own it as voters/citizens.

Who did the citizens/voters vote for Chin?

“Lake was a member of the Republican Party until November 3, 2006, when she changed her registration to become an independent. She registered as a Democrat on January 4, 2008, the day after the Iowa Democratic presidential caucuses were won by Obama. Lake returned to being a Republican on January 31, 2012. She explained leaving the Republican Party in 2006 as a reaction to the then-ongoing Iraq and Afghanistan wars. She had supported John Kerry in 2004 and Barack Obama in 2008. She also made several donations to Democratic presidential candidates. After launching her campaign for governor in 2021, Lake cited Trump, Ronald Reagan, and Arizona Republican Party chair Kelli Ward, all former Democrats, as precedent for her party-switching.”

“In November 2021, Lake told a group of Republican retirees that she was taking hydroxychloroquine to prevent COVID-19 infection. She stated that, as governor, she would work to have hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin produced in the state to ‘make it easier for us to get these lifesaving drugs.’ Lake questioned the science behind COVID-19 vaccines and said that she had not been vaccinated.”

“Lake repeatedly and falsely claimed that defendants arrested in connection with the January 6 United States Capitol attack were being ‘being held in prison without being charged.’”

“Lake endorsed Jarrin Jackson, a far-right online streamer, in his campaign for State Senate in Oklahoma. Jackson was subsequently scrutinized for his past record of making antisemitic comments, including claims that ‘the Jews’ are evidence that ‘evil exists’; ‘Jews will go to hell’; and ‘Jews [are] taking over the world.’”

Why does Trump have to denigrate a proven good man like Desantis? It shows his arrogance.
Trump is often his own worst enemy.

Politics seem just a game to Trump and it seems that he likes to make enemies among politicians. He will always succeed in making lots of unintended enemies. What a waste of talent. He should learn to practice magnanimity and he could become an even more effective POTUS than he was.
