Trump mocks DeSantis at Pennsylvania rally: 'Ron DeSanctimonious'

Former President Donald Trump took a swipe at Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis at a rally on Saturday night referring to him as "Ron DeSanctimonious" in what could be a sign of growing tension between the two potential presidential candidates.

I voted for Trump in 2016 very reluctantly because I didn't trust him on budget issues, and thought he might support single payer because he made some comments about it in the past. I ended up.voting for him in 2016 solely because of his promise to support Federalist Society recommendations for judgeships. I despised then and despise now the populist crap - almost as much as I hate elitists.

I voted for him much more enthusiastically in 2020 because he came through on judges, taxes, and pushes hard for border security.

I'd love to be able to vote for his policies without his incredibly undisciplined mouth, and penchant for saying stupid things. That's what I now call the "DeSantis option."

Yea, just wait until Doctors can’t find his wife’s medication and his kids can’t find a school. They have thrown everything at Trump and Trump has not turned on the people. That counts for everything to me. There are plenty of other reasons I would never support Desanctimonius but why bother. The election fraud that he won’t let go of is more proof that Trump stands alone. Everyone knows shenanigans were played, outright fraud and manipulation of the process through mail it ballots and all else. Everyone else is afraid to talk about it because they’re cowards. They think it’s not the right POLITICAL play. Trump doesn’t play that game. He calls out fraud until laws start getting passed. It’s only Trump.

You know, it occurs to me that if anyone was cheated out of the 2020 election, it was us voters, not Trump. He has no right to that office other than what we choose to give him. And if we choose to give it to someone else in 2024 because we think they're a better option, that's our right as the voters.

I like what DeSantis has done in Florida, and his JAG experience. That said, I have never trusted him like I trust Trump.

We can have these discussions, and that's a good thing (mostly).

That said, the upcoming 24 election is so gosh-awful important, that I do not permit myself to fall in love with any GOP candidate to the point that I would not support the GOP nom.

Whomever wins the nom, you got my enthusiastic support.

That said, Trump needs to act more presidential and less feeble-minded and less cringeworthy and less vengeful if he wants to make the cut.

I sincerely doubt that he can do that.

Paul Ryan, the Bushes, Karl Rove etc are funding DeSantis in exorbitant amounts to run in 2024 against Trump. They are inflating his ego to the tune of $200 million.
Where was Ron DeSantis when Mar A Lago was raided? He’s the Governor. Did he know ahead of time and disappear at the right moment? He never tried to protest or stick up for Trump. Why not? Trump endorsed and helped DeSantis become Governor. Ron has done a good job imitating Trump but he is bought and therefore they can control him, unlike President Trump.
