Cruz calls out Trump for not spending on Senate candidates

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) is calling out former President Donald Trump for not spending more of his $100 million war chest to boost Republican Senate candidates ahead of next week’s midterm elections.

In an episode of his podcast, “Verdict with Ted Cruz,” that aired on Monday, Cruz lamented that Trump had spent “almost none” of his massive cash reserves in key Senate races, arguing that it should be up to the former president to provide crucial air cover for candidates whom he has endorsed.

The problem with buying a Senator is they never stay bought.

Indeed. they go stale in just a couple of days.

I had hopes for Ted a long time ago. He's still better than some, but hasn't lived up to his potential at all.

Please, there is no shortage of outside money being spent to boost even the worst GOP candidates... PA is a perfect example... between the two turds running more than $100 Million each will likely be spent alone... and the overwhelming majority of it comes from out of state.

Indeed. The biggest issue I have with this, besides the insane numbers, is the fact that almost all of it is being given directly to the mainstream media that hates our guts.

Cruz has a legitimate complaint here. Trump should have backed Doug Mastriano (yes governor candidate rather than Senate) and Blake Masters and Don Bolduc and Tudor Dixon all of whom have been massively outspent.

That’s just perspective of the “journalist” writing the story. Without listening to the actual podcast, it’s impossible to know who Cruz considered the main and who was the “also”.

All we know is that writer wanted his readers to think Cruz mainly attacked Trump and only “also” attacked Mitch.

I’ve been assured Ted really really really does support Trump
now.

Why Cruz would never criticize Trump now.

What a swell guy. /s

Trump is very popular with Republican voters. What’s Ted’s
goal here? Is he upset with that?

Yes, it is glaringly clear what guys like Trump are trying
to accomplish just off camera, but guys like Cruz never seem
to get it. Graham and others have perfected the ability to
undercut their own people as often as possible.

I’ve seen Republican leaders on camera at the same moment at
different spots on Capital Hill advocating two opposing
positions, thereby confusing the populace en mass.

Our Republican leaders on Capital Hill haven’t a single clue
how to focus or lead.

But he did call out Mitch.

Big deal. As you can see, multiple FReepers did not even read the article before shooting off their mouth. It’s par for the course.

How about jumping down the throat of Mitch McConnell who divests himself of funds only to those he agrees with?

How much money have any of you all given to the Republican Senatorial campaign? I gave Zero, like millions of people, because giving directly gets the money to who I choose.

Give to the Party, and you are losing the impact within the millions given by those buying influence for past or future events. The corruption is hate deep in shi’te and getting deeper in the halls of service...I mean power.

No argument from me. I loathe McConnell.

Then Cruz should have been calling out McConnell for months because McConnell has been holding back money all along.

If I were Cruz I would be balls out, we are trying to save our country here - no time for niceties.
