I believe that glue is only made from horse hooves. Anything else is an adhesive.

My grandfather could paint like that. Very few of his paintings were original though. He could take that painting and paint one that looked just like it.
Wait until they do a Jackson Pollock painting, it would be an improvement.

If they were going after gas stations, refineries and wells, I would ‘get it’ even though I’d still want them executed, because those are legitimate targets in a war.... But attacking paintings because someone scooped up a few pints of oil oozing up naturally 400 years ago and mixing some pigments with it is just insanity.
There’s some deep (and dangerous) symbolism here - they are attacking some of the most treasured and respected pieces of western civilization.

Oil paint is not based on petroleum. It’s usually linseed oil.
The event was in Holland and the perps are Belgian; however, the T-shirts show words in English. I guess they are after the English and American media.
The paint was made with linseed oil not crude oil. Dumbasses

I completely agree with you. Speaking as a painter myself, Vermeer is one of our most important artists for myriad reasons. There are so very few paintings by him.
This one…a stunning beauty indeed.
Take them outside and glue them to the building from head to toe. Just leave them there and call it performance art in the nude.
