Most conservative economic ideologues “have a beef” with populism. They compare it to socialism/communism which is historically ignorant.

My retort back is ‘tough shit.’

If people historically liked what these ideologues were selling these economic movements wouldn’t exist in the first place.

Also, if we get a huge economic contraction these alternative movements will only gain strength as we move through the 2020’s.
