The Russians had virtually no ammunition and some even had to share one assault rifle between two.
VIDEO: Ukraine: Russian soldiers appear to 'surrender'
Russian troops killed their commander after he tried to stop them from surrendering to Ukraine's army, it has been reported. The soldiers were part of the recently mobilised reserve and had just arrived at the front. Vladimir Putin's army has suffered a series of humiliating defeats on the battlefield in recent weeks.
Ukraine's army has made spectacular advances in the northeast, east and south of the country as they continue their counteroffensive on a number of fronts.
The military setbacks have forced the Kremlin to shake up their military command yet again and introduce a nationwide "partial" mobilisation.
Russia's Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu announced in September a draft of 300,000 reservists to help boost frontline troops fighting in Ukraine.
The announcement led to a mass exodus of Russian men from the country, as they sought to escape the call-up.
Those unable to flee were forced to report for duty at military enlistment offices.
Ukraine's military launched a hotline called "I want to live", encouraging conscripted Russians to get in touch and promising them safety and humane treatment if they surrendered.
Russia has been warned it is in "big trouble" with the war in Ukraine, as Vladimir Putin's battlefield plan is torn apart by a veteran British Army commanding officer.
The Russian Army has suffered a series of huge setbacks in recent months, and found itself pushed back out of key territories thanks to heroic counteroffensive operations from Ukrainian troops.
Now a group of Russian soldiers appear to have responded to the offer in a bid to avoid the slaughter at the front.
The men were sent to a hotspot within days of being called-up without either adequate training nor proper equipment.
The Russians had virtually no ammunition and some even had to share one assault rifle between two.
They were told in no uncertain circumstances by their commander that they would be shot if they attempted to retreat.
Realizing the hopelessness of their situation, the soldiers secretly contacted Ukraine's army via the hotline and agreed to surrender.
When the time came to lay down their arms, they shot their commander and handed themselves in.
Ukraine's special forces told Channel 24: "A group of mobilised men, by prior arrangement, went out into the square indicated by our fighters.
"They had no ammunition, so they only gave us their weapons.
"They received medical assistance, because everyone was sick. They received food and were satisfied.
"They will go to the camp after interrogations. They'll be safe."
Reports emerged on Friday that Putin's military recruiters were rounding up men on the streets and from their apartments in both Moscow and Saint Petersburg.
clear that Ukraine is winning.

Clear to who? Many see Vlad winning, for many reasons. I do. Of course, I don’t read western news. Indian, Bulgarian, Greek and Turkish seem to be fair and balanced. Fact is, you will believe what you want to believe, nothing will change minds. Didn’t anyone learn anything about Trump’s warning about fake western news?
Time will tell, but fact is the Russian Federation is growing in official territory. One of Vlads original objectives has been met….now we wait for two and three.
“too predictable”
I just share information. If you are bored that’s OK.
If you are not interested in current status of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, please simply by-pass post to another topic.
So this what checkmate looks like?
“ There’s a lot of propaganda but it’s clear that Ukraine is winning.”
“Winning” isn’t really a valid concept in this war. Not for Ukraine. The absolute best they can hope for is kicking out the Russians from most or all of their territory and having a country to rebuild, lots of dead Ukrainians and an extremely hostile neighbor.
Losing is more of a valid concept when it comes to Russia. That would be if they aren’t able to take more land than they took when they invaded Crimea. But it’s coming at a terrible cost. My concern is that Putin will need some kind of victory or he just won’t stop. And that includes the use of nukes.
Cool story, Bro.
Stop sending me FReepmails.
Aaannnd…another angel get its wings. 😊
ok
The Russians will have to do to Putin the same way they did to the Romanovs during World War I.
No, a destroyed EU manufacturing, production base does, a crippled economy with 1000 percent increase in fuel bills, food shortages, commodities shortages , currency crash, EU citizens suffering en masse,…….western governments are now disintegrating, fracturing.
That’s winning. Two things are clear, Vlad keeps Crimea and the rich Donbass provinces, and he keeps filling his wallet while the West goes deeper into bankruptcy. Best part- the West can do nothing about it. Weak, lame leadership.
“skim past”
Good for you! I skim many comments as basically there is no shared info.
Some freepers’ comments are mostly known for being just chaff.
“Cool story”
Glad you appreciate. :)
The Russians will have to do to Putin the same way they did to the Romanovs during World War I.

Not going to happen.Vlad enjoys a 90 percent approval rating, when I worked in Moscow training Ivans, he was held in much higher regard than Trump was with us. Recent correspondence reveals the same, the troubling part is the calls for Vlad to get tougher, up to wiping the Ukies off the map. Pray Vlad remains constrained.
Stop drinking the western MSM whiskey, put the bottle down.
LMAO
Only true BS ridden trolls stoop to the levels you have committed and done.
So, ok buddy.
Which would be OK if he were not sending young and old men off to die in his Putin meat grinder.
———
Far better than the corrupted comedian Zelensky, sending all 18-65 year olds into Vlads meatgrinder. He is on his 8th mobilization now conscripting woman, “ desperation “ comes to mind, scrapping the bottom of the barrel.
Wake me up when Vlad starts drafting 60 year olds and woman.
when a woman says ok fine..you lost the argument..lol.
This would all be over if Putin withdrew.
———
This would have never started if Ukraine didn’t renege on the signed Minsk Agreements and started shelling the Donbass since 2015.
PLEASE DON’T SPAM ME WITH ANY MORE FREEPMAILS.
THANK YOU.
Who did you interview? Ivan, a 55 years old alcoholic, a veteran of the Soviet-Afghan War?
That smells more like an 'operative' than a FReeper. Maybe the pay is better if you can send out 'x' number of emails. The spam on the forum is pretty weak sauce these days.
