‘Trump’s Unelectability Will Be Palpable’: Paul Ryan Says Trump Won’t Win GOP Nomination Again

President Donald Trump will likely lose the Republican presidential primary race in 2024 and, failing that, the general election should he decide to run again.

“Whether he runs or not, I don’t really know if it matters,” Ryan stated. “He’s not going to be the nominee, I don’t think.” Ryan made the comments during an appearance with Kevin Kajiwara, CEO of Teneo, the public affairs consulting firm of which Ryan is vice chairman, at their office in Manhattan.

Ryan also accused Trump of using “fear and intimidation” to maintain political influence over the Republican Party, which he predicted would end poorly. “Whenever you try to do that, it ends the way Hemingway talked about bankruptcy,” he said, “it goes along for a while until it [steeply] drops.”

Ryan said that most Republican candidates were “hurting their own ambition,” by refusing to criticize him. However, he said that Trump’s influence could wane when a critical mass of anti-Trump Republicans emerge, remarking that “as soon as you sort of get the herd mentality going, it’s unstoppable. … Trump’s unelectability will be palpable.”

“The one inexhaustible power in politics in ambition,” Ryan claimed. “You can count on that” to yield a serious challenger to Trump in 2024.

Clueless as ever.

They're trying the same tired playbook.

PROVEN conservative is 'unelectable' and preferred pantywaist candidate (like Nikki Haley) will prevail. The people will come to their senses, etc. etc.

They couldn't stop him before, and all their insidious machinations won't stop him again.

But it's interesting to see how their feeble minds work.

Paul Ryan was the major reason President Trump did not get his full agenda through Congress.

Ryan is more than a disappointment. He is a full fledged Deep State lying poser.

He’s telling us what the resident FR GOP establishment shills won’t, that the establishment will once again support the Democrat nominee if Trump is the GOP nominee. They will help the Democrats, some openly, some in the shadows like the backstabbing snakes they are. DeSantis is their compromise candidate but they much prefer Tim Scott another SC liberal.

Paul Ryan was the biggest enabler of the Russia, Russia, Russia hoax there was. People need to be reminded of that.

Paul Rino appears to have no sense of how unpopular he is among more than a hundred million Americans.

Democrats could learn to like this Uber Soy Boy who grifted his way to millions.

Trump is more electable than Paul Ryan ever was, he had to have been one of the worst VP candidate choices ever.

I think Paul Ryan ww in on the steel and I know he was in on the cover up. I blame him and the Rhinos for the open border and fentanyl deaths.

This is an old sting play.

The Shutout

They’ll OPENLY rig the election and then stigmatize, ridicule and ultimately prosecute anyone who objects. Fascists, they’re very predictable.

Paul Ryan, now more “Never-Trumper” than ever, has yet again misunderestimated the viability of Donald J. Trump, a most extraordinary force of nature.

Donald Trump, at 76 years of age, has more vitality than many men half his age. And having been a clean living person all his life, his prospects for living all the way through to 2029 and well beyond are excellent.

Ryan knows about being “unelectable.” As VEEP candidate to Romney he brought that element himself.

If Trump runs in 2024, I’m sure he will be the nominee.

What has become clear to me over the last 15 years is that there is a huge chasm in the GOP between the party’s financial backers and its grassroots supporters. The message in 2016 should have been clear: many, many people who have voted for Republican candidates for years will no longer support the feckless @ssholes who the party routinely peddles as its nominee.
