Winter could bring health crises to Ukraine,...thousands are at risk of pneumonia and hypothermia............

Hans Kluge, the WHO's regional director for Europe, said this means thousands of Ukrainians are now living in collective centers or damaged buildings without enough resources to protect them against the freezing weather.

Too many people in Ukraine are living precariously, moving from location to location in substandard structures, or without access to heating," Kluge told reporters. "This can lead to frostbite, hypothermia, pneumonia, strokes and heart attack. Destruction of houses and lack of access to fuel or electricity due to damaged infrastructure could be a matter of life if people are unable to heat their homes."

The country has also been trying to beat back a polio outbreak since October 2021 due to low immunization rates. During that period, at least one child was identified with paralytic polio and 19 other children have been infected but not paralyzed, according to the United Nations Children's Fund.

I have no doubt the Ukrainian people’s plight will be severe this winter. They are in a really bad spot, and that includes some extended family in my case.

I feel for the people.

The governments and those who are advocating for this war are the real villains.

Bull. Negotiate with a nazi dictator Putin who wants Ukraine as a vassal state like Belarus?
The Ukrainians rejected that.

To stop this war get Putin to withdraw from Ukraine

Either negotiate or the conflicts in Ukraine will continue as they have for decades.

The conflicts have not been for decades.

Since the first Russian invasion in 2014 to now is 8 years.

Get Putin’s army out of Ukraine and the war ends

Influenza season in Ukraine is always awful. Schools and factories close and many people die. On a routine basis, I send my family there vitamins and cold medicine. They still catch colds but nothing like the norm.

It wasn't the Russians that invaded Ukraine in 2014 it was the Obama administration. Probably under orders from George Soros.

I notice the NYT has its shirts in a knit about the redirected money.

Meanwhile, the chip manufacturer in NYS who got 25 mil meant for something else and the ongoing Bills stadium scandal, $1.5 bil and counting, crickets...

I don’t know if Putin is a saint or a scoundrel. I don’t believe you really know anyone until you live next door to him. But to put any confidence whatsoever in this guy Zelinsky, a corrupt pervert with no scruples, is absolute folly. In the past Ukraine has proven to be a filthy, corrupt government which launders other corrupt Nations money, among other terrible scandals. I am suspect of anyone, politician or otherwise, that supports aid to Ukraine under the present political reality.

Winter? I thought global warming eliminated winter. Why the Holy Goreacle said we won’t even know what snow is by now.
