Trump slams McConnell over lack of funding for Masters in Arizona

Former President Trump criticized Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Monday for supporting funds for GOP Sen. Lisa Murkowski’s (Alaska) reelection bid against a fellow Republican rather than directing that money to Arizona Senate candidate Blake Masters’s (R) race against a Democrat.

“The Old Broken Crow, Mitchell McConnell, is authorizing $9 Million Dollars to be spent in order to beat a great Republican, Kelly, instead of $9 Million Dollars that could be used for Blake Masters, and other Republicans, that with this money would beat their Democrat opponent,” wrote Trump in a statement, referring to Kelly Tshibaka, who will face off against Murkowski in November.

Trump has endorsed both Masters and Tshibaka and called Murkowski, one of only seven GOP senators who voted to convict him in his second impeachment, “horrendously bad” and “barely” a Republican in his statement.

Murkowski is one of the more moderate Republicans in the Senate, specifically in her support of abortion rights.

A report by the Anchorage Daily News published on Thursday found that the Senate Leadership Fund, a Republican PAC with ties to McConnell, funded television, radio and internet ads in Alaska slamming Tshibaka in support of Murkowski.

“Murkowski is one of the more moderate Republicans in the Senate, specifically in her support of abortion rights.”

Absolutely the worst.

1. Votes down Kavanaugh
2. Abortion on demand
3. Impeach Trump
4.Worthless for Alaska regarding drilling
5. Prune faced from smoking and drinking
6. Vaginosis

As well he should. The Turtle is obviously acting for the RINO Establishment and not acting for the good of the Republican Party.

He’s spending huge amounts to try to stop another Republican from unseating the sitting Senator in Alaska while he simultaneously refuses to spend anything to help a Republican who is extremely close running a sitting Democrat Senator in Arizona. He’d rather have 1 RINO than 2 MAGA Senators.

Trump is sitting on over $100 million he has raised so far.

He announced that he is going to start disbursing that money in October, but he can fund Blake Masters without McConnell.

I am leery that Trump raised all this and has not given anything to his endorsed candidates other than rallies.

Even the Republicans that don’t like Trump would have to be upset that the party is spending on attacking our own rather than attacking the enemy!

I wish McConnell would retire like Sasse. Imagine what we could do if we didn’t have saboteurs like him and Romney.

Trump knows, as do most of us, that the Republicans will take control of the Senate as well as the House in January, the question really is once removed, will the Republicans inevitably name Mitch McConnell once again leader in the Senate?

Trump as well as most of us knows the answer to that question so we must ask why is Trump attacking McConnell? He is setting up the battle over control of the Senate.

The answer, unfortunately and unavoidably is, yes, McConnell will be elected leader. So the next question becomes can those Republicans who were endorsed by Trump and otherwise disposed toward making America great again raise enough opposition to McConnell's leadership or at least raise enough public fuss about McConnell to extract conditions from McConnell respecting how the affairs of the Senate will be conducted?

For example, will McConnell agree to real probes of Biden crimes? Will McConnell agree to actually protecting America from the very sinister infiltration of every institution, including the Senate, by the Chinese to the point that it gravely endangers American national security? Will McConnell actually agree to a true investigation reform of the FBI and CIA as well as the rest of the deep state?

These are but a sample of the issues about which we can expect McConnell to be footdragging or even subverting in the next Congress. The question is, can we at least get some restraints on him established now?

nope!!..TDS in republicans is just as bad as in Democrats...they'd rather see a (D) win then see Trump get credit for an (R) win....

I don’t gamble, but I think you’re incorrect.
We’ll see soon enough.

P.S. I hope I’m wrong and you’re correct.

Murkowski is not ‘the most moderate’ Republican, she’s the most left-wing

No bet because I'm worried about Georgia and Pennsylvania because they are difficult races to understand and because of the potential for fraud there.

I think the odds are in favor of a Republican wave election which would give us at least 53 in the Senate and better than 235 in the House.

But bet the rent money anyway.

Your post is depressing. Mitch McConnell will not “probe” himself. He will not help Trump.

McConnell would rather be “Minority Leader” than no leader at all, which is what would probably be the outcome if the Republicans retake the Senate. (Would rather burn the country down than lose a piece of it).
