What kills me is that Biden is (ostensibly) the guy in charge. He's supposed to be calling the shots. And he's failing. So, they want the election to NOT be a referendum on the president. Because they will lose.
So their plan seems to be to make 2022 a referendum on Trump. The guy who isn't president. They guy who isn't running the show. The guy who is just living in Florida. Yeah. Sure. Run against him.
The Democrats are an empty shell. But they have so much of the GOP propping them up. It's unbelievable.

To successfully do that, the electorate would have to have collective amnesia, and the GOP would have to sit still and allow that to happen. Some may do that, but Lincoln’s adage about fooling some of the people some of the time, and most of the people most of the time comes with a caveat: If you fool yourself, you will fool nobody else.
