St. Louis substitute teacher Brandon Holbrook, 30, was found unresponsive in his jail cell Monday before dying an hour later at a local hospital Holbrook was jailed for allegedly raping a former 14-year-old student on three occasions. Police say two other accusers have stepped forward Officials at St. Louis County Jail found Holbrook sitting upright with his headphones in, but tapped his shoulder and found him unconscious His lawyer, Scott Rosenblum, said the death is 'unusual,' as the results of an investigation and autopsy report are pending

Perhaps Rosenbloom is working the angle of a big payout from the County. If the dead criminal was black, there would be a multi-million dollar settlement. Being a white kid, he might only be worth mid six figures.

Uh, why would you say that? They have headphones in many jails and prisons. TV too. And tablets with WiFi in some places.

Things have changed. Was in county once as a yute and it was cold and miserable. There was one TV that everyone had to watch. No headphones, no music...zero. What i remember most was the green baloney sandwiches and the few sadistic corrections officers (the worst ones were women for some reason).

I do not support child abuse or rape in any way. What disturbs me is we seem to have forgotten “innocent before proven guilty.” I was a substitute teacher for years. I've been falsely accused by stutdents. Are we back to “me, too?” We aren't the left. As unsavory as it is, this man had the right to a trial to determine the facts. We must stand on pricipal, even for those we dispise.
