Italy is bracing for a political earthquake as the most right-wing Government seen since World War Two is expected to be handed power following tomorrow’s election.
The potential emergence of a far-right government in Italy has put the European Union on alert for disruptions - with fears that the unity of the war in Ukraine could be jeopardised.
The leader of the post-fascist Brothers of Italy Party, Giorgia Meloni, is slated to be a big winner in Sunday’s election, becoming Italy’s first female Prime Minister.

Just speculation, but I can foresee a split if not outright dissolving of the EU (and possibly NATO) in the not so distant future if they keep it up. The coming of General Winter is, imho, definitely going to turn the ‘heat’(i.e.: exacerbate) up. We shall see.

The EU leadership has been VERY CLEAR about this: If Italy will not vote CORRECTLY, they will no longer be considered a democracy and they will be punished by the EU.

You’re exactly right. Signora Meloni is hardly Mussolini II or Hitler II, but the left-leaning establishment in her country and in Europe in general will treat her as such.
In reality, she’ll be leading a center-right coalition with an agenda roughly analogous to “MIGA.” I’m praying for her success. A bonus will be that her success will irritate the heck out of Pope Francis who never met a conservative he didn’t hate nor a leftist he didn’t love.
Pelosi wants to be ambassador to Italy. That will be interesting.
And a dash of fascist to top it off just like USA media.

Yes, indeed. Among the changes Mussolini made was to outlaw the use of words that signified some people were worthy of higher status than other people. He preached "equality." At first, he resisted antisemitism. Later, he adopted the Nazi viewpoint, which seems to be where the Left always ends up because, in their quest for "equality," they think of people in terms of "groups" (Proletariat and Bourgeoisie, Aryans and Jews, etc.).
