The late-blooming 2022 Atlantic Tropical Storm season is making up for lost time. A tropical system has developed in the Central Caribbean Sea. This storm system is forecast to threaten continental U.S. interests next week. While the tropical wave passed south of a key geographic area known as Hebert's Box #1, it will very likely pass through Hebert's Box #2. These boxes are useful as predictors of hurricanes that will strike South Florida. For more information about Hebert's Boxes, see Hebert Box. See graphic below which illustrated the Hebert's Boxes.

So do I, but this time I somehow forgot. How could I do that? Thanks for reminding me!
Oh my...canals literally surround that city!
Tracking right over Orlando...and Disney. Hmmm...
God bless you, dear. I will pray all goes well.
So sorry for your loss and to have this added on top of it.
(Side note)
Sheesh...really weird posting about Hurricane Ian while here in W. Pa hard rain and sleet falling right now!
Yikes! Sleet already! That cold trough really is cold. Cool and breezy here in East Tennessee.
I've turned the AC off here in Mobile.
I'm usually the one worried about an approaching hurricane.
Yes, Cape Coral is more water than land. It’s where you catch the johnboat over to North Captiva after stocking up at Publix. Ft. Meyers is Canal City, jumping off point for Sanibel. How I loved Sanibel as a toddler and little girl back in the 1960s before they built the causeway. It was pure Paradise then. So many wonderful memories. So sad Ian is headed there. :(
director of the National Hurricane Center.....
Tuesday is the LAST DAY for people to safely flee ahead of the monster storm in mandatory evacuation areas.
1 knot = 1.15 miles per hour
100 knots = 115 miles per hour
GMT= Greenwich Mean Time. Also known as Zulu (z). GMT is 4 hours ahead of Eastern Daylight time. Times are normally shown in military time. To find EDT subtract 4 from Zulu time. Example:
1800z = 18 - 4 = 1400 = 2:00PM EDT.
0200z on the 25th = 2 - 4 = -2 (Wait what? A minus?) = 2200 EDT = 10:00PM EDT on the 24th.
I am watching “Ryan Hall Y’all” on YouTube. If y’all haven’t seen him before give him a look. He has very good tornado coverage, but this is my 1st hurricane with him. He has 6 storm chasers in the affected areas and checks in on live feeds with them frequently.
Looking like my daughter (High Springs) may end up on the good side of this but will have tons of rain.
blam I’m north of you in Millbrook (basically Montgomery suburb).
An excellent way to spend a morning. Well done!
I feel better just knowing you did it.
We have some new neighbors from up north in my complex. We know this because they’ve got tape on their windows! I hadn’t the heart to tell them it won’t do what they think it will. Besides- the tape glue is tough to remove.
Be safe!
We’re not leaving the beach just north of Anna Maria. We were concerned about a water event, but no longer as a strong north wind will blow and blow and blow all the water out of Tampa Bay. I expect to feel some of that cool air from the front passing through from that north wind. That will be nice when the power goes out.
We went out to the beach this afternoon. There was not another soul to be seen. Kinda creepy still out there. Water was glass flat.

Yes, I have been watching Ryan Hall for about a year.
If Ian hits as predicted, it may well suck water out of Tampa Bay.
