The late-blooming 2022 Atlantic Tropical Storm season is making up for lost time. A tropical system has developed in the Central Caribbean Sea. This storm system is forecast to threaten continental U.S. interests next week. While the tropical wave passed south of a key geographic area known as Hebert's Box #1, it will very likely pass through Hebert's Box #2. These boxes are useful as predictors of hurricanes that will strike South Florida. For more information about Hebert's Boxes, see Hebert Box. See graphic below which illustrated the Hebert's Boxes.

Oh how fun. What does your wife teach?
I will for sure give Owen’s a try. Thanks for the recommendation!
That is frightening!
Tropical Storms/Hurricane Thread - let’s stay on Track...
Very punny. Keep the hurricane on track...
That’s unusual that a tropical storm would retain that much power that far north.
This will be our first hurricane (just moved back to FL last year and the 6 years we spent here in the late 90’s had none close to us). My daughter moved in with us a few weeks ago. She is terrified of hurricanes and tornadoes. I told her we were just going to have a hurricane party in the bathroom with chocolate and hurricanes and Bob Hope musicals on my computer. She’s okay with Ian now. Glad to know that chocolate is a standard item for hurricanes.
Welcome back! Chocolate for hurricanes 94.9is AS crucial as batteries in my family.
Chocolate is mandatory for hurricanes.
“Chocolate is mandatory for hurricanes.”
Correct.
And cases and cases of beer. Water?
Hey, were I am water is everywhere.
Probably be in the house soon.

I was living in Mobile when Opal hit. We had a 3 month old son and lots of our neighbors were heading west to get away from the storm. We rode it out with a new baby. Scary times.
chocolate wine and toilet paper!
Other than plenty of non perishable food, you need beer and a generator to keep the fridge running.
Last time we lost power from a storm, I cooked a lot of meat that had been in our freezer and provided cold beer for my neighbors. We were party central.
That storm is really pretty.
When I was in GITMO in the 60’s, we got hit by the same hurricane three times. It would pass over us and loop around and hit us again.
Got the generator. We left most of our extension cords when we moved so just picked up two more. I’m celiac so no beer. But I do have all the ingredients for a good hurricane. I am working on filling the ice now. We have no neighbors. We bought a cow a month ago so as long as we keep run the generator sporadically and keep the freezer cold, we’ll have plenty of food for weeks and weeks. Also got 25 gallons of good gas today (ouch!!),
We survived 10 and 7 days without power in freezing WA because of windstorms. Some great memories. Hopefully this will be “fun” too.
If it does track towards Homossa we will be on the east side of the eye wall.
Poop.
And two Publix ran out of water and bourbon today.(Jim and Jack.
Might be a rough time in Mudville.
