The late-blooming 2022 Atlantic Tropical Storm season is making up for lost time. A tropical system has developed in the Central Caribbean Sea. This storm system is forecast to threaten continental U.S. interests next week. While the tropical wave passed south of a key geographic area known as Hebert's Box #1, it will very likely pass through Hebert's Box #2. These boxes are useful as predictors of hurricanes that will strike South Florida. For more information about Hebert's Boxes, see Hebert Box. See graphic below which illustrated the Hebert's Boxes.

Sounds like it was not as bad in Venice (scroll down through comments):

Not sure on winds, they had some live cams during the storms at the Venice jetty, down town and fishing pier, appeared to be very minimal flooding at the time, maybe a bit of standing water in the roads.
Someone still has a Sarasota Fire feed on Broadcastify still running. I’ve been listening for a hour or so, and so far I haven’t heard any major calls for Venice FD. North Port had several water rescues from attics and houses but that seemed to be from one street near a canal.
Some chatter of some impassible roads in Venice. The city of Venice posted a picture on their FB page of the Venice Community theater which sustained major damage. IN the comments, reports of some flooding, sounds like mostly road, pond and yards.
Also multiple report cell service went down around 4 ish but seems some texts are getting thru now in parts.
I have relatives in the area and before cell service went down around 4 ish they reported some damage to things like lanai screens, but at the time the new hurricane rated houses seemed to be fine in regards to the wind.
I have relative in Venice. Lost reliable texting around 4 PM. Someone with power and internet has a Sarasota County FD stream, which includes Venice on Broadcastify.
So far, Venice FD has been quiet, currently at a working trailer fire on the island, but limited water supply and calling for mutual aid for tankers. I didn’t hear any rescue calls re: high water. So, I’m guessing they have some minor flooding but overall not like Ft. Meyers.
I have a post a few back with some other details.
Thanks Jemian!…..We’re good!
We left town, we’re good.
But we have family in Orlando who stayed…because they didn’t think there would be a problem
I sure would appreciate prayers for them.
God bless you.
I wonder how many of these people show the same sentiment of life saving compassion to the unborn human being?
They are called hurricane partys and have been around for decades. Welcome to the wonderful world of the fab. fla. keys. It's how a lot of people live down here.....
Naples and Ft. Meyers:
Is the NHC part of NOAA which is part of big govt. run by the commies? Maybe that's the answer why all they do is lie and lie some more.

Thank you for the link to vids. Looking forward to checking them out when I get some grid electricity and wifi.
My Dad and Stepmom are in Bonita Springs, about 9 miles inland.
They were fairly confident not fo get storm surge there, just rain and wind.
They still had power at 345 pm yesterday at their last text update then nothing since. Anyone know how East side of Bonita Springs is doing? Am hoping they just ate unable to get through by text or calling for now. They are on pretty high ground. Even with Irma they just had water over their road in front but not to house.
at 4:36 you see a trailer park coming apart as the storm chasers get near the eye of Ian.

We were in the Keys and Key West in April of 2021. The drive is quite spectacular, and we look forward to visiting again. Love the chickens roaming wild everywhere.
FOX News took over the Gutfeld show,
One of the only shows worth watching.
For Hurricane updates even though they have a BlOCK of 4 HOURS CLEARED FROM 9 TIL 1AM for mostly REPEAT news on storm.
Like they needed another hour of storm stuff.
Would have been nice to have something light after 24/7 storm news, much of it REPEATS!
At least it wasn’t Shannon Bream, Fox leftest Golden Girl.
Trace Galleger, new @nite host.
Glad Bream is on early Sunday, when my TV is off!
She is BORING Anti Trumper dem lover. Passive aggressive.
Glad yer ok.
This appears to be their site I hope it is. they are a worthy cause.
Yeah chickens are everywhere along with the iguanas.
Update they are doing ok. Everybody waiting for first daylight to survey their areas.
Great!
Best wishes.
