The late-blooming 2022 Atlantic Tropical Storm season is making up for lost time. A tropical system has developed in the Central Caribbean Sea. This storm system is forecast to threaten continental U.S. interests next week. While the tropical wave passed south of a key geographic area known as Hebert's Box #1, it will very likely pass through Hebert's Box #2. They can give you a storm surge estimate based on your address. You can subscribe for $5/month during hurricane season. If I remember correctly, I got info immediately after signing up.

all that hysteria about Tampa....looks like the worst of the eye wall is gonna hit south of Naples....alot of nothing but swamps down there....gonna be a big rain event...thats it.
that high pressure dome in the Gulf appears to be really pushing the storm eastward.

Local news reported pressure down to 939mb, with a lot of lightning around the eye. There is very good news—it appears the forecast for a stalled storm has dissipated.
