Ford Motor on Thursday announced plans to restructure its global supply chain, days after the company said it expects to book an extra $1 billion in unexpected supplier costs during the third quarter.
The supply chain restructuring aims to “support efficient and reliable sourcing of components, internal development of key technologies and capabilities, and world-class cost and quality execution,” the automaker said in a release.

Electric not selling so well...
Thanks.
Get woke, go broke.
They’ll get 100% EV even if it destroys them
Anyone with half a brain could have foreseen that things were getting more expensive.
To smugly label that “Unexpected” is gross mismanagement. Ford is just another ruined woke company now.
Here is a suggestion:
Make sure your vehicle components are built down the street, instead of ten thousand miles away.
The “just-in-time” supply chain concept was created in Japan years ago. The components were literally built close to the final assembly location in Japan. That does not work when parts are built hundreds or thousands of miles away from the final assembly plants.
Where’s the Duece when you need him.
ya their supply chain is probably super diverse , the Woke way
Fake : “Electric not selling so well...”
-———————Sept 02, 2022———————
Ford brand continues to report significant sales drop in the U.S. - in August by almost 33% year-over-year to 119,022 due to semiconductor-related production constraints. That’s deeper than in July (-31%).
On the other hand, the electrified vehicle segment - xEVs (BEVs, PHEVs, HEVs) - expanded 67% year-over-year to 8,756. That’s about 7.4% of the total volume.
“Electrified vehicle sales were up 67.3 percent over last year for a total of 8,756 vehicles. Electrified vehicles are bringing in new customers to Ford at a rate that is more than 8 points higher than Ford’s overall conquest rate.
Maybe Ford is just biding time for when U-Haul goes all EV with its nationwide fleet. That will be the proof of concept that EV is actually going to work as a profitable concept, not driven by government subsidy or mandate.
What BS.
Stockholder: You lost 1 billion last quarter! What are you going to do about that!?
Executive: Uh... We’re going to “restructure our supply chain”!
F-150’s at Kentucky Speedway waiting for chips. So massive it can be seen from outer space.
If it doesn't have a gadgets and extras and bells ad whistles you don't need, how are they going to make a killing doing repairs?
Also doesn’t work well when you trust the Chi-Coms.
Note to FBI, I did not disparage you, the DOJ, or the President of the United States, so I believe you have no reason to threaten me or my family. Right?
A 350 BOSS wouldn’t hurt.
sell your ford stock!
9K EV’s? Do you know that represents almost a statistical zero against all vehicles sold by Ford.
