I recall the line from a Louis L’Armor western (I think) about sit when you can, sleep when you have time, and eat when there’s food (something like that).
All good advice. Not sure we need laws about it though.
I guess there just isn’t anything important for congress to be working on right now.....geesh
“If passed, the legislation would require employers to allow employees to sit at work if it doesn’t interfere with the nature of the work.”
I guess it will take a few lawyers to sort this out.
I imagine even lying down wouldn’t interfere with the nature of many work assignments. Some assignments, particularly government ones, might yield better results if they just slept through them.
That old science fiction book I read about the future where everyone laid on a bed and stared at other people on screens day and night was prescient.
Who needs the Babylon Bee when you have demonrat socialists proposing legislation like this? Welcome to 'Bizarro World'!
Introduced by Senator Costanza.
I’m moving to NY. The government there cares and they will fix all my problems. I will never have to worry about anything again.
Look around. So many are overweight and unhealthy. There are consequences to prosperity.
More laws....and consequences to new laws like this will be vast as well.
Work is tiring.
Who knew?
they are just increasing the pace of the transition to a fully robotic workforce with bs like this.
Let me guess? Democrats right? Want more of this nonsense, vote democrat in November!
Assembly member Karines Reyes, a Bronx Democrat, is the bill’s sponsor.

Only a Dem could butt in to this minute level of a workplace environment.
Personally, one of the best things I did for myself was to purchase a height adjustable stand-up desk. I find it less tiring to stand and work at a desk than sit. I no longer suffer from backaches as I did when sitting all day.
But, but, but! https://www.huffpost.com/entry/sitting-is-the-new-smokin_b_5890006
Clearly they are trying to kill people.
The Canadians had Juno beach all to themselves on D-Day. I imagine those men looked forward to the grave as they saw what happened to the country.
I hear they originaly wanted to call it "Lazy Office Staff Expect Regular Sitting" bill, until the took a look at the acronym it created.
Learn to code standing up.
A guy in another area ordered a STANDING DESK, it was expensive and he had to have the PO signed off from above.
After a month or two, he did not like it and was the butt of many jokes.
I snatched it up and used/loved it for many years.
Easy to lean on and very comfortable, even eat lunch on it.
