Martha's Vineyard homeless advocate says migrants there will eventually have to move 'somewhere else’

A homeless coordinator in Martha's Vineyard, the latest destination where migrants are being sent by Republican governors in an effort to bring attention to the southern border, said that the island doesn't have the resources to help them long-term and that they will eventually have to move 'somewhere else."

Lisa Belcastro was speaking to reporters Thursday about the community response to the newly arrived migrants.

"We don't have the services to take care of 50 immigrants, and we certainly don't have housing," she said. "We can't house everyone here that lives here and works here."

Her remarks came a day after Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis sent two planes carrying 50 migrants to the island off the Massachusetts coast, known primarily as a summer vacation spot for the wealthy, which prompted an impromptu response by local leaders.

“We don’t have the services to take care of 50 immigrants, and we certainly don’t have housing,”
+++++
Surely we Freepers have the resources to gather up those old tents that we haven’t used in decades and Fed Ex 50 to Martha’s Vineyard.

Housing problem instantly solved. These immigrants don’t need much. They normally sleep on cardboard with a plastic blanket. And there is plenty of acreage around the Obama Estate to set up a nice Tent City.

Food is another issue. I think they will just have to figure that out. I suggest that they raise local taxes and set up a Free Food and Stuff for Illegal Immigrants store. Another problem solved.

Of course toilet facilities might be a problem. But, like I said, Obama has a lot of acreage.

Well, this got even better. Martha's Vineyard can't absorb 50 wetbacks illegals ah, immigrants? Fifty? And the rest of us are supposed to accommodate millions of them? Send more.

Could Governor Greg Abbott be charged with transporting these illegal migrants across state lines?

I'd think that once they get the desk summons to appear in immigration court, they are free to go.

The question is who is going to return them to the original jurisdiction to make their court appearance?

Back across the border sounds good, but aren’t the good folks in Martha’s Vineyard the ones who voted for Biden who had no plan for a closed border? Or a plan for much of anything.

Not enough housing? Well, just erect 10,000 temporary pallet shelters for your new neighbors. Simple, fast and low-cost.

obama has always planned high density apartment buildings in major cities in an effort to destroy farming and farm communities. Martha’s Vineyard should follow that and put up a bunch of those to accommodate 800 or 900 illegals and achieve Obama’s dream, on his property!

Well, lady, our country can’t handle 2+ million of these people across the country but the have no choice because they are stuck with them. Are you and your fellow islanders so special that you are exempt from this major issue?
