Republican Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul threatened a wave of oversight on Wednesday after Dr. Anthony Fauci refused to disclose whether members of the FDA are receiving royalties from the companies that created the COVID-19 vaccines.
Fauci was testifying before the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions committee when Paul asked whether there were any financial conflicts of interest between members of the FDA committee and big pharma.
“We’ve been asking you and you refuse to answer whether anybody on the vaccine committees gets royalties from the pharmaceutical companies,” Paul said. “I asked you last time and what was your response? ‘We don’t have to tell you.'”
“But I’ll tell you this, when we get in charge, we’re gonna change the rules and you will have to divulge where you get your royalties from, from what companies, and if anybody on the committee has a conflict of interest. We’re gonna learn about it. I promise you that.”

This is why I want to see OZ get in to be on that committee.
Not perfect in any sense, but...
so, phony tony choose the honorable way out: retire
*groans*
Why didn’t Trumpy fire that b1tch when he had the chance???
It’s BS that they don’t have to divulge this NOW, they are employed at taxpayer expense.
Make the worm squirm Senator Paul!!
& the Twitter replies from the vaxxers are so stupid..
I would like to see Rand Paul on the 2024 presidential ticket. He’s one of the few GOP politicians who really “gets it” and would deliver real change if he could.
the titanic is sinking and Rand, bless him, he’s a fighter, is worried about the dishes in the cabinet.
Rand, wake up!

I agree with you it’s a no brainer him as VP but will “they” - even Trump - elevate Rand to that level? I’m not sure.
If he wants to get there he’s going to have to fight and win the hearts and minds of the party... A long way off that...
The fact that Fauci won’t say if anyone on the CDC vaccine approval committee is getting royalties from Big Pharma says they are.
The fact that Fauci says he doesn’t have to disclose the information is how the CDC, created ostensibly to protect the public, came to be controlled by Big Pharma.
He is trying to show how corrupt they are.
He has the evidence, I would bet 10 to 1 odds on it.
Democrats love to spread the hate narrative to divide the country. But Fauci hate is a unifying issue nationwide thus he had to retire before November.
LOL!
Can you imagine the discussions that Ron and Rand had prior to Rand getting into office?
“Son, you would not believe the stuff that happens in DC.”
“Dad, it can’t be THAT bad, LOL!”
Son, I got an idea. You should run for Senate.”
Because he didn’t have the chance to fire Fauci, not really. Fauci is a career civil servant surrounded by a huge bubble of protection against firing, not a political appointee. The most Trump could have done is ordered his political appointee to fire Fauci, who would have instantly appealed as is his right under the laws designed to protect people like him. It would have dragged out for years, we’ll be rid of Fauci sooner this way than had Trump tried to fire him and he would have remained in his position anyway. In addition, since Fauci has an unparalleled level of public and political support there would have been a huge backlash against Trump. There still will be by Fauci’s supporters if he is ever called to account - he is the god-like embodiement of “Science” to them...and everything he did was correct in their view.
If the answer was no he wouldn’t hesitate to respond.
“Why didn’t Trumpy fire that b1tch when he had the chance???”
The heads of CDC, NIH and others had a pact that if Trump fired any of them, they would all resign. Cuz they cared about everyone so much in the midst of the pandemic don’t you know.
“I asked you last time and what was your response? ‘We don’t have to tell you.’”
The proper response to that kind of answer is: “Well, then the US government doesn’t have to employ you.”
“The heads of CDC, NIH and others had a pact that if Trump fired any of them, they would all resign.”
Sounds like a win-win to me.
