As a Conservative woman, I didn't see it that way. As a woman, I know not to be out on the street alone after dark in a city like Memphis. As a teenage girl in the 70's, I knew not to be out alone after dark in a large city, even in rural TN. A man shouldn't be out on the street at night in a city like Memphis. It's common sense and around here it was drilled into us when we were little. I'm not blaming the victim because anybody should be able to be out whenever they want but as long as we know places like Memphis are like they are, nothing good happens after dark.
If you insist on risking your life in a place like Memphis, at least carry a firearm. It's allowed here, and I do, especially if I'm out alone or out at night.
Tucker believes it isn’t the victim’s fault, under any circumstance and I agree. The mindset that accepts decay and rot as part of daily life is what has to change. I don’t see that happening until we hit rock bottom. We’re getting close.
