Pamela Ricard was a math teacher at Fort Riley Middle School. She was reprimanded then suspended after challenging a school district policy requiring faculty to use a student’s preferred name and "prounoun" while addressing the student, and forcing them to hide the student’s social transition from their parents but use the student’s legal name when speaking to parents.
Ricard refused, asserting that the school policy violated her conscience.
Administrators at Fort Riley Middle School retaliated when Ricard asserted that a teacher should refer to students by their legal name and pronouns that corresponded with their biological sex.
They canned her. But Ricard refused to back down. She sued the Geary County School District.
And now she has prevailed:

Good , keep Gibberish out of the classroom
Kiddies will always challenge adults.
“Kiddies will always challenge adults.”
Way back I was teaching an 8th grade math class. I got challenged the first day. I laid down the law. Rest of term went fine.
But back then there were consequences ...
I wonder what the preferred name and pronoun was?
Propbably something outrageous the student was trying to prank the teacher with...
My name is The Great Queer, and my pronoun is Queefking!
My first grade teacher gave me a paddle spanking across her lap, in front of the class for eating my best friend’s cookie.
Second time was 6th grade for drawing. Ruler on hands.
I was a really bad student unlike those ‘pronouns’ today, but I made
good grades in most everything.
Do they even use the alphabet these days?
That is not much money. And the tax payers pay it. No one in the admin actually got punished.
Teachers don't seem to worry about grades anymore these days. They're too busy trying to turn children into little mentally ill homosexuals without informing the parents.
This is a hill to fight on guys. When they've come for your children then it's time to get serious.
the judgment needs to be against special school offinials to have real deterrence.
Math teacher, huh? Something didn’t add up, so she figured it out!
My daughter says a school district near hers has kids who think they are cats, and the school goes along with it. This includes using their “cat names”, providing litter boxes, and letting them answer questions with “meows”. It’s the age of insanity.
I’d love to talk about your middle school experiences. I’m just about finishing up my teaching certification and I tend to like teaching middle school (highschoolers are a different animal, and most of them are taller than I am.)
So far, it’s been pretty fun, but the trans kids are a strange issue — and several of them have attempted suicide, despite everyone being oh so careful with their pronuns (teachers will get fired immediately if they don’t) so there’s something really weird going on. (An understatement I know)
