I think i woudl want to know though if my governor hated me and wanted me gone from the state because of my political affiliation- Maybe your MIL is better off not knowing, especially if NYC politics don’t reach out into the hills of rural areas— but personally i think i’d want to know-

I disagree. Democrats will never learn - period. When experience shows that their policies generally do the opposite of what they’re claimed to do they trot out the standard moaning whining BS. “We just didn’t go far enough.” I’m sure everyone has heard a Democrat politician or two say this.

Some people are saying the long season of covid, from late 2019 to today, has kept people in their apartments so long that there has to be a quantum leap in rents now for the landlords to catch up.

I know there are many, many people here who never lived in NYC before because they don’t have NYC manners. That probably sounds ludicrous to some, but there are specific behaviors that allow people to live peaceably in crowded conditions.
Women, who seem to be many of the newcomers, are the worst. They are still in “competitive mode,” for one thing, which is totally declasse here. And they don’t observe the most basic manners.

No self-respecting Republican would ever ride a bus.
Now, now. We ride the bus frequently. We live on our sailboat and have no place for a car, but, we do need to go places. Where we are, there is a free bus service. It’s actually pretty sweet (for the most part)
I get that, but a bus ride from New York to Florida? I can’t imagine anything more miserable.
As a Floridian who wants Florida to stay red, I find her terms acceptable.

That was Ehrlich. Elrich was (maybe still is) the leftist county executive for Montgomery County.
It’s hard to imagine any governor in US history saying something so irresponsible and unprofessional.
