A new poll of the U.S. Senate race in Pennsylvania suggests the race may be closer than previous polls — and pundits — have suggested.
The race between Lt. Gov. John Fetterman (D) and Trump-endorsed Dr. Mehmet Oz (R) is being closely watched. Sen. Pat Toomey (R) is retiring, giving Democrats an opportunity to pick up a seat and thwart Republican ambitions to take control of the upper chamber of Congress.
Fetterman has led Oz in most polls, often by double digits. However, the race may be tightening.
A poll by the Trafalgar Group shows Oz within 5 points of Fetterman:
Currently, Fetterman is seen as having the advantage; the RealClearPolitics poll average has him up 7.5 points.
Oz was badly damaged in a tough primary contest that saw him cast as an outsider who had taken left-wing positions on social issues in the past. Fetterman was knocked off the campaign trail by a stroke, and appeared to have trouble speaking at his first post-recovery campaign appearance, but has held onto a dogged lead.
Fetterman has sought to capitalize on Oz’s recent reference to vegetables as “crudité,” reinforcing suspicions that he is an elitist who cannot relate to the state’s working-class population. But being the frontrunner also has its disadvantages: recent video surfaced in which Fetterman admits having chased an innocent black jogger down his street and pulling a gun on him.

Oh for goodness sakes. Try as many might to make Oz the issue, Fetterman is as bad a candidate and probably worse.
The incumbent admin and its party will be on trial this election as in all midterms following the election of a president.
I know that breaks Mitch’s heart, but it is true.
A recent poll showed 95% of respondents do not believe poll results.
The best thing for Oz is Fetterman campaigning. I highly doubt Fetterman will debate Oz. Ads better be in the works for that … “lazy ass Fetterman lived in mommy’s basement until he was 45. Now Fetterman is too lazy to debate. Dr. Oz will fight for Pennsylvania. Dr. Oz isn’t lazy.”
And holding a bipoc with a (branDUHn’s #1 choice) shotgun on mere suspicion. AKA WWB or walking while black.
There was an incident several years ago where Fetterman looked out his window and saw a Black man jogging past his house. Convinced he must be running away from a crime, Fetterman grabbed his gun, got into his truck, and chased the guy down. Fetterman jumped out of his truck and held the guy at gunpoint until the police arrived. It sounds very similar to the Ahmaud Arbery situation. It turns out the man did nothing wrong - he was just out jogging. Oz should be flooding the airwaves with ads about this, especially in the Philadelphia and Pittsburg areas.
