Why is Christopher Wray more concerned about criticism than Americans’ complete distrust of his corrupt agency.
FBI Director Christopher Wray’s Thursday statement represents a disgraceful attempt to silence critics by conflating condemnation of the bureau’s conduct with violence and threats against law enforcement. This outrageous tactic will not work, and that Wray resorted to it confirms he no longer deserves to be FBI director.
In a country founded on first freedoms — foremost of which is free speech — Wray’s statement proves shocking. But worse still is the reality that the FBI already identifies patriotic and historic speech and symbols as suspect of violent extremism, such as when groups profess, “Don’t Tread On Me” on an emblem of the Gadsden flag or challenge with the Gonzales flag, “Come and Take It.”
While Wray’s effort to equate speech and violence proves the most offensive part of his Thursday statement and one that merits universal condemnation, the director’s attempt to sweep away the legitimate criticism of the bureau as “unfounded” deserves derision as well. “Unfounded attacks on the integrity of the FBI erode respect for the rule of law and are a grave disservice to the men and women who sacrifice so much to protect others,” Wray began his short, four-sentence statement, before immediately pivoting to the truism that “violence and threats against law enforcement, including the FBI, are dangerous and should be deeply concerning to all Americans.”
By calling criticism “attacks” and then immediately warning the country of the danger “violence and threats” against the FBI pose, Wray deceitfully framed legitimate speech as violence or, at a minimum, the threat of violence. The object of this framing is obvious: to silence Americans who have finally found their voice following the FBI’s raid of Trump’s private residence at Mar-a-Lago.

Christopher Wray is the mob boss of an organized crime agency.
His whining means less than the buzzing of a gnat.
Criticism of the Stasi will not be tolerated.
If what I have read is true, wray should be in shackles. Portions of President Trumps declassified docs require wray to ok and redact the parts deemed harmful to national security. Or he might just not want to release incriminating revaluations to his own misdeeds
The Fey Wray is the domestic terrorist leader.
I have always defended the rank-and-file of the FBI. I know that there are still good people there.
But as Joe diGenova said in a recent radio interview, we desperately need some courageous whistle-blowers from that community to come forward.
Who’s to say he ever deserved it, in the first place?
God Bless Margot Cleveland. Truer words have never been spoken.
We have had seven years of total lawlessness at the FBI and not one agent has quit or become a whistleblower.
Chris Wray - the last Director of the FBI.
we are in a brand new era. The FBI won’t survive. Maybe the USA won’t either.
Are you sure nobody has quit? They employ about 35K, and at least a third of those are special agents.
POTUS Trump was Wray’s direct boss. Wray had no say in the matter.
This was to screw Wray for his acts of treason in trying to overthrow the US government.
“We have had seven years of total lawlessness at the FBI and not one agent has quit or become a whistleblower.”
Probably why so many regular cops do not.
That pension and full health care are hard to give up to be ethical.
If Wray was honorable he would resign...
FWIW, there are some bad cop shops in this country but probably few to none as fluster clucked as the FBI.
He thinks he can bluff his way through on this.
We’ll see about that!
“…from enemies foreign and domestic”
There are no more “Boy Scouts” at the FBI.
All there had a duty to up hold the Constitution. There should have been a contingent of FBI agents to do their own investigation, gather evidence and arrest Wray and others at the top floor of the FBI.
They had a sworn duty to do so even if the media, DNC and RINOs labeled it a coup.
I guess you know every one of the people employed there personally.
