My sixth grade teacher was a WW2 veteran of the British army. No idea how he wound up teaching in Houston.
By the time I reached high school we started getting hippies freshly graduated from college. It changed the atmosphere a lot. Of course we thought it was cool.
Sounds like this is geared to veterans without degrees so it shouldn't be an issue.
Veterans will be hired under the law then unaccountably fired before being tenured.

Good for DeSantis. I’ve thought for a long time that many parents would be far better in the classroom than these indoctrinated activists. Veterans are a great idea - but also, business owners and financial people. And lots of pastors....if schools are going to teach “morals”, then can’t leave out the foundation for the country.

When I bagged groceries at the commissary (tips only) at age twelve, didn’t take us long to learn captains and above didn’t tip....thought you owed it to them. We would all but fight to avoid bagging their groceries!

The Teachers Unionn in F;lorida is very angry and concerned that people with only a 12th grade education and a 5 years teaching certificate would be able to teach children, She regareds then underqualified, refusing to admit the learning that occure via military service touted by DeSantis.
