He can build solar panels *and* windmills.
Not a problem
I do feel sorry for the folks, if they were indeed harassed on
top of losing their child.
$45.2 million?
Eh, that’s somewhat excessive > IMO.
I though punitive limit was $750k in Texas.
If the press can be sued for misinformation, this could become interesting.

Of course he doesn’t have it. Can he discharge it through declaring personal bankruptcy?
Perhaps DementiaJ could trade Alex Jones for Britany Grinder…
$45.2 million?
That’s a lot of Loose Change.
Ridiculous to award familes such massive amounts of money. I get the issue but this is just why people take everyone to court. Attorneys get paid and families get rich.
I realize that many people, including conservatives, are cheering this decision. They do not realize that Alex Jones was just the “low-hanging” fruit. Next, they will come for the target that is just above him. Then, they will keep reaching further and further until any dissent from the government narrative will be criminalized or fined.
People cheered when Twitter banned Alex Jones and Youtube demonetized his videos. What happened next? They starting banning anyone that stepped too far outside the lines of approved speech. What has happened to Jones will not stop at just him. They will use his case to go after others.
If people didn’t want to hear the crazy things Jones was saying, the proper thing to do would be to not listen to it. Banning his speech and penalizing him was not the way to go.
I’m afraid this will not end well.
He said what he said. I wonder why the suit was in Texas. Is that where he is based?
However, no one will ever convince me why/how a 50-something year old, divorced woman, taking in over $20k a month in child support and alimony, who “used to” shoot skeet when she was a young girl, living in one of the most restrictive states for guns, had a Bushmaster annnndddd a 10mm Compact Glock. A pistol that would difficult for most grown ass men to handle.
Jones could have won the defamation case in court if he had made any kind of effort.
Defamation in the legal sense requires deliberate intent to harm. No matter what he said about crisis actors, and all the other stupid stuff he said, it would be very hard to prove in court that he intended to harm anyone. Even if he lost in court for some reason he probably would have won on appeal.
Jones skipped depositions, he didn’t hand over evidence as required, and he even got caught red-handed, lying his butt off under oath just a couple of days ago.
In the beginning he just needed to hire a high-powered attorney with experience in these type civil cases. Listen to the attorney and let the attorney guide him through the process. Jones has the money and he could have aced this from the start. Instead he got two separate default judgements against him for defamation, one in Texas and one in Connecticut just because he made no effort in the beginning.
I think the guy is pond scum and have no sympathy, but geez, he never even really tried until he got to the penalty phase recently, and by then it was too late.
The criminal justice system is criminal.
Could anyone please let me know exactly what Alex is guilty of? What makes taking his money legal?
Alex Jones says he filed for bankruptcy so his appeal bond on the Sandy Hook judgment will now only be half his net worth ($1m or two), allowing him to tie it up for years and stay on the air. pic.twitter.com/pHdL1ai48H— Ron Filipkowski 🇺🇦 (@RonFilipkowski) August 1, 2022
these jury awards are really getting out of hand
When do Iraqi families get to sue Dick Cheney for “falsely claiming” that Iraq had WMDs and had something to do with 9/11?
