Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told the South China Morning Post on Thursday that he would like to discuss his country’s war against Russia with the leader of Russia’s closest ally, Xi Jinping, “directly,” and invited China to help rebuild Ukraine once the war is over.

I got a question to ask the war hawks supporting this conflict with Russia.
Why didnt the allies declare war upon the Russians when they invaded Poland along with Nazi Germany during ww2?
I guess a Russia under a demented tyrannical dictator was a good thing back then?
AND, Churchill etal, agreed to let them bastards have all of east Germany and Eastern Europe at the end of the war.
Why didnt we declared war on them then?
Lets ask the war hawks that question.
It might be as simple as FDR thought the world of Uncle Joe Stalin and history is written by the winners. But our Neocons won't know this. They're easily led, easily fooled and as cowardly as hell.
If you didn’t see this coming, go stand over there under the sign that says “Clueless People”
Pelosi on sanctions list...schadenfreude...:-)
Pelosi wraps up Asia trip, leaves disastrous legacy, massive mess for Biden, Taiwan
Decisive response to violation of one-China principle ‘an education’, making world see US can’t protect secessionists in Taiwan

US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi wrapped up her high-profile and destructive trip to Asia after the final stop Japan on Friday and was put on the official sanctions list by the Chinese government for seriously trampling on the one-China principle.
With the curtains falling on the political stunt of the 82-year-old, who will always be remembered as a reckless and egocentric troublemaker, Pelosi’s tour in the region - widely considered as a “graduation trip” as she is likely to lose in the upcoming midterms - left nothing but a mess for the Asia-Pacific region and the world, as well as incurred a huge damage to the US’ national interests.
He’s about to get Shanghaied
China can’t keep its banks open. 😆
Zelinsky needs to be called to DC for reprogramming. Host a state dinner for him at McDonalds, tell him that the party is over and give him a kick in the ass.
All shipments of arms, medical supplies, food need to be halted. Any high-tech weapons that are already in the theatre must be remotely scrambled if possible.
China will help rebuild it once it’s part of Russia, like before.
How much of the action will “the big guy” get??
It never hurts to ask.
You might get something.
Lol. I’m neither a warhawk or a wehraboo. But I can answer your question. First off we couldn’t have beaten the Red Army at that time. It was much larger than the western allies. The war on the Eastern Front was much larger than the West and the Red Army was much larger.
Second, everyone was sick of fighting and none of the western govts would risk attacking Russia since they had just spent years convincing the people that the Russians were our buddies.
zelensky doesn’t do anything his NATO masters aka the US doesn’t first suggest. We aren’t getting played... Nuland and the entire “deep state” have been arranging this since 2014, just ask linda Graham what he and McCain promoted and promised, there are still audio and video recordings on youtube.
What could possibly go wrong?
Your points are good, but Russia did lose 25% of it’s population during WWII including mothers and fathers.
I give highest support for your second point, “everyone was sick of fighting.”
Turncoat
No surprise
Xiden is just his war bitch

According to the posted article, the Chinese didn’t offer. Z invited them to help and wants to talk directly with Xi, who apparently hasn’t been taking his calls.
I was having related thoughts. Is this a way of trying to set up back channel talks between US and China? Was Pelosi trip a ploy to lure China into showing what its military might be capable of doing offensively? Is it true China can’t keep its banks open and if so why? Will Xi be grateful that he had a chance to show his macho abilities prior to the big decision on his future as the Chinese leader? This last situation is critical in evaluating all the action related to recent China related activities, if it is true that he has a lot of enemies at the top in China.
I think we overplayed our hand... and have now given the Brics countries a multipolar world. Not a bad thing in my book, as it will curtail US adventuring around the world in search of conflicts to enrich our MIC. It’s always about money...and I don’t believe much I read in the western news regarding Chinas banks etc. China has been working on rooting out corruption and influence, Jack Ma got spanked as they thought he was monopolizing via his business practices. Though I believe a speech he gave was blamed by the western media. Do we do the same to Bezos? of course not... he enriches our politicians.

This is way too complicated. Alliances are not some kind of Vulcan mind meld. Every member has its own particular interests, not all of which will be completely congruent with the rest. For instance, until Japan invaded China, the Nationalist Chinese government received significant amounts of military equipment (on a barter basis) and advice from Germany, which helped in the near destruction of the Communist Party. Unfortunately for that government, this assistance was scaled back sharply once Japan started its invasion of China in 1937, which had the incidental effect of keeping the Communist Party alive:
Alexander von Falkenhausen was responsible for most of the military training. Von Seeckt's original plans called for a drastic reduction of the military to 60 elite divisions, which would be modeled on the Wehrmacht, but the factions that would be axed remained an open question. As a whole, the officer corps trained by the Whampoa Academy until 1927 had been only marginally better in quality than the warlord armies, but remained loyal to Chiang.[30] Nonetheless, some 80,000 Chinese troops, in eight divisions, were trained and formed the elite of Chiang's army. However, China was not ready to face Japan on equal terms, and Chiang's decision to pit all of his new divisions in the Battle of Shanghai, which Japan won, despite objections from his staff officers and von Falkenhausen, would cost him a third of his best troops. Chiang switched his strategy to preserve strength for the eventual Chinese Civil War.
Von Falkenhausen recommended for Chiang to fight a war of attrition, as Falkenhausen calculated that Japan could not win a long-term war. He suggested for Chiang to hold the Yellow River line and not to attack until later in the war. Also, Chiang should give up a number of provinces in northern China, including Shandong. Falkenhausen also recommended the construction of a number of fortifications at strategically important locations to slow a Japanese advance. Falkenhausen also advised the Chinese to establish a number of guerrilla operations behind Japanese lines.
Ukraine's principal fear is that China will begin supplying significant amounts of military equipment and supplies to Russia. At the moment Russian supplies are running low* in all kinds of things. That could change if China were to turn its manufacturing capacity towards becoming the arsenal of Russian territorial expansion. That is why Zelensky is making overtures towards Xi. At minimum, he wants to nip in the bud any progress that Putin is making towards having Xi supply Russia with war materials, whether equipment or ammunition.
While I think Zelensky's overestimating the effect of his personal charisma on a stone killer like Xi, it's not like this is some kind of high risk play. If it fails, it fails. All he's risked is the hours his staff has spent figuring out a sales angle that will get Xi to desist from helping Putin in a serious way. And when I say serious, I mean the way China or Russia helped North Vietnam during the Vietnam War. China sent tens of thousands of artillery pieces and tens of millions of artillery rounds. Russia sent its latest fighter jets, tanks and artillery pieces. In addition, both countries sent tens of thousands of personnel to North Vietnam, who actedas a deterrent tripwire force and provided a bolstered air defense capability

Throughout the war, Moscow provided Hanoi with 95 S-75 air defense missile systems, over 500 airplanes, 120 helicopters, more than 5,000 anti-aircraft guns and 2,000 tanks. In addition, more than 10,000 Soviet military specialists were dispatched to Vietnam: from missile crews, pilots and signalmen to tank crews and doctors.
The airplanes the Russians provided were front line jet fighters just over a decade old, all the way up to their latest models, including MiG-17's, MiG-19's and MiG-21's. Given the tiny amounts of Western aid currently being provided, relative to Russia's overwhelming quantitative superiority in firepower, preventing large scale Chinese resupply is important to Ukraine merely holding the line. Hence the diplomatic feelers in China's direction.
* Russian supplies aren't dwindling relative to Ukraine, but relative to the lopsided expenditures needed for Russia to advance. For instance, during WWII, Germany retreated time after time against American forces because American troops simply had more firepower. Other things being equal, the side with more ammo wins.
—”China is smiling. This war damages and weakens both Russia and the West. Easier pickings for the Chinese.”
YES!
And China is very happy to purchase discounted oil from Putin and any other distressed items on the cheap.
China does not appear to be selling any large quantity of embargoed items.
The Chinese think long-term, decades, and there are some border lands that they believe belong to them, NOT RUSSIA.
IMO a weakened Russia will sell the land back to the Chinese, an offer they cannot refuse.
