The United States conducted a "successful" counterterrorism operation against a "significant" Al Qaeda target Ayman Al Zawahiri in Afghanistan over the weekend, a senior administration official told Fox News.

Senior Haqqani Taliban figures were aware of Al- Zawahiri’s presence in Kabul, a senior admin official said today.

Former US special rep for Afghanistan Zalmay Khalilzad told @margbrennan in Oct. 2021: “The Taliban that I dealt with, they told me they did not know where he was”

Asked if he believed them, Khalilzad said there was a “lack of trust” between them. “That’s why it’s very important not to take their word for it, in terms of what they say or what they commit to,” he said at the time.

I couldn’t believe it! It was just AMAZING! I’ve been having trouble all this season with my rose garden. All the bushes were scrawny and sickly, hardly a bud. Couldn’t figure out why.

During Biden’s speech I was sitting in the garden and watching on my laptop. When it was over I went inside, got some iced tea, then went out again to retrieve my laptop. Only 10-15 minutes had gone by, at most!

All the rose bushes were as healthy as redwoods, with hundreds of full blossomed fragrant roses THE SIZE OF VOLLEY BALLS! ALL THAT FROM A BIDEN SPEECH! WHAT FERTILIZER!!!HE’S SAVED US AGAIN!!!

IS THERE ANYTHING THIS MAN CAN’T DO???

This is a great and good thing.

Biden - Al-Zawahri
Trump - Soleimani
Obama - Bin Laden

I’d like to see this asked in future presidential debates: if elected, which prominent Islamist will your administration kill?

Biden pulls out of Afghan, Taliban prosper, Biden decides to take out some Al-Qaeda geriatric as a token for the Taliban who are enemies of Al-Qaeda btw.

Poll numbers are down either legislation needs to pass or elections are coming up. May 2, 2011, lets get a PR rush by pulling the trigger on some guy we knew where he was all along. Are you seriously impressed by this? The guy was probably eating chicken crispers in a posh location of Kabul when the drone came to visit as his services no longer required by US intelligent agencies anymore.

Biden - Al-Zawahri
Trump - Soleimani
Obama - Bin Laden

And Bush had eight years to get them.

Yes, the Haqqani family is running the show in AFG on instructions from parts of the ISI. However, it could have been internal power fights among the Talibans.

Kind of like when Heydrich got bumped off. Nobody in the Nazi hierarchy shed a tear, they all hated him.

Took a long time to build the natsec infrastructure which took out bin Laden. Involved getting together some folks whose departments had never cooperated in this manner before. And more than a little of it was custom-built.

Yeah, the Haqqanis might be the real prize here. Do we know which son and son-in-law bought the farm. Papa’s got a few of them.

I’d like to see this asked in future presidential debates: if elected, which prominent Islamist will your administration kill?

Candidate A: “Well, I’ve got someone picked out but I don’t want to clue them in!”

Candidate B: “I’m not going to limit my administration to just one. I have a list of several potential targets and my staff is vetting them now so we can hit the ground running in January”

Could be politics. Could be that Joe just didn’t want to do it. Remember, he argued *against* hitting bin Laden.

Biden is slapping himself on the back for taking out a guy who was probably eating soup in a nursing home.
