A family-owned restaurant in Boston’s Chinatown allegedly served as the headquarters of international money laundering and transmitting schemes that reaped tens of millions of dollars in proceeds from drug trafficking and the resale of Apple products.
Eight individuals have been indicted for their alleged roles in the schemes which were partly run at China Gourmet, according to the Department of Justice (DOJ). Former spouses Shi Rong Zhang, 48, and Qiu Mei Zeng, 47, co-own the restaurant.
Both Zhang and Zeng have been charged with conspiracy to commit money laundering and unlicensed money transmitting. Zhang’s Hanover-based electronics store, Wonderful Electronics, has also been used as a front for illicit transactions, as per court documents.
Vincent Feng, 32; Da Zeng, 30; Wei Qing Zeng, 58; Xian Rong Zeng, 45 and Qiu Fang Zeng, 59, face the same charges. Additionally, Chengzou Liu, 36, was indicted on conspiracy to commit money laundering and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

No interest whatsoever.
.
But, how was the food?
Made you hungry 2 hours later.
We used to have a tradition of stories posted here about child sex trafficking in Bangkok and people would express “shock” that such a thing would happen in a nice place like Thailand.
Well, here we’ve got global money laundering and — look! — China is involved!! So surprising.
No ten percent?
The #25 was to die for!........................
10 minutes …
Hmmm. And Boston’s mayor is what ethnicity again? And a democrat.
Everything in a Chinese restaurant takes 10 minutes.
Even the water........................
You wonder if this was the only scratching the surface of the money transfers. Were there money transfers to Boston Mayor Michelle Wu and/or the Democratic National Committee, too?
Here is a better article with more details:
These guys lived in the same neighborhood as a guy in my office. He said they were nice neighbors, but always kept to themselves.
If I were King of America for a day, I’d evict EVERY Chinese national living in America and make it illegal for a Chinese company to own ANY real estate or be a partner with any American company!
There are 300,000 ++ Chinese students attending US colleges and universities - THEY ARE ALL SPIES! SENDEM HOME!
With regard to ownership of American companies and farmland, ALL Chinese owned companies, farmland and real estate should be confiscated and returned to American ownership!
CHINA IS AT WAR WITH AMERICA, PEOPLE!
WHEN WILL WE WAKE UP TO THAT FACT!
You can bet your sweet bippy the Biden’s wasn’t getting a cut - If they were you wouldn’t be reading about it.
Donations? Now that’s another story.
Wife and I lived in Marietta GA for 12 years. There was a Chinese restaurant in a strip mall next to a very popular Mexican Restaurant. We visited the Mexi place once or twice a month. Never saw a single customer sitting in the Chinese place . Over 12 years saw maybe two people pick up takeout in the Chinese place. I told my wife that it had to be some kind of front for money laundering. That place sat empty and survived year after year with literally no customers.
I would guess that in every major city that at least 25% or more of the restaurants and bars are money laundering operations.
Right here in Nashua, NH I can think of two major companies that were owned by drug dealers. One was the local Burger King. The guy owned Burger Kings in Portland, Nashua and a Boston suburb. Major cocaine dealer. Now in prison.
The other was the most popular Mexican restaurant in town back in the 80s. It closed on a Saturday night. He was never seen again. Turned out he was a big coke dealer too.
Gee. What a surprise.
