There is no one in the Democrat party or Democrat media axis fit to shine this man’s boots.

Meet Ron Desantis. Born on September 14, 1978, in Jacksonville, Florida.

[1] He is of Italian descent.

2] His family moved to Orlando, Florida, before relocating to Dunedin, Florida, when he was six years old.

[3] In 1991, he was a member of the Little League team from Dunedin National that made it to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

[4] After graduating from Dunedin High School in 1997, he attended Yale University. He was Captain of Yale varsity baseball team and joined the Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity.

[5] On the Yale baseball team, he was an outfielder; as a senior in 2001, he had the team’s best batting average at .336.

[6] He graduated from Yale in 2001 with a B.A. Magna Cum Laude in History.

[7] He then spent a year as a History Teacher at the Darlington School.

8] He attended Harvard Law School, graduating in 2005 with a Juris Doctor Cum Laude.

[9] He received his Reserve Naval Officer’s commission and assignment to the Judge Advocate Generals Corps (JAG) in 2004 at the U.S. Naval Reserve Center in Dallas, Texas, while still a student at Harvard Law School.

[10] He completed Naval Justice School in 2005.

[11] Later that year, he received orders to the JAG Trial Service Office Command South East at Naval Station Mayport, Florida, as a Prosecutor.

[12] In 2006, he was promoted from Lieutenant, Junior Grade to Lieutenant. He worked for the Commander of Joint Task Force-Guantanamo (JTF-GTMO), working directly with detainees at the Guantanamo Bay Joint Detention Facility.

[13] In 2007, he reported to the Naval Special Warfare Command Group in Coronado, California, where he was assigned to SEAL Team One anddeployed to Iraq with the Troop surge as the Legal Advisor to the SEALCommander, Special Operations Task Force-West in Fallujah.

[14] He returned to the U.S. in April 2008, at which time he was reassigned to the Naval Region Southeast Legal Service.

[15] The U.S. Department of Justice appointed him to serve as an Assistant U.S. Attorney at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Middle District of Florida.

[16] He was assigned as a Trial Defense Counsel until his honorable discharge from active duty in February 2010.

[17] He concurrently accepted a reserve commission as a Lieutenant Commander in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps of the US Navy Reserve.

[18] He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Iraq Campaign Medal.

“That man has to be restored to the Presidency”

I like your “phrase-ology”. Restored.

Didn't work? You must be joking. Donald Trump was the most competent, effective U.S. president in my lifetime.

Anyone who thinks Ron DeSantis is going to cause even so much as a mild ripple on the waters of the Beltway Swamp is delusional.

Trump went to Wharton — an Ivy League school.

His legal advice to that team was of the utmost value.

This -- more than anything else -- should pretty much disqualify Ron DeSantis from running for the White House.

Anyone who buys into the notion of fighting military campaigns with lawyers on staff is a globalist shill from top to bottom.

so you were here at the beginning.

old school == survival school.

anyway, you’re probably right; i started lurking here about 2008-2009, so i’m a newbie relative to you. i do tend to tune out more and more here as time goes by, but that might just be experience, whom to ‘hear.’

i love my brothers and sisters here. FR prayer warriors are lethal to the enemy. the devil and his demons hate this place. i love to comment and pray on the enemy’s posts, witting or unwitting.

i think we’ve lost a lot of good ones from your Class. 2nddivvet comes to mind and many whose handles, i’ve forgotten. i’m so glad Jim R is on the mend. fight on ms archy and may God continue to bless you and yours and all except the enemy on FR.

I’ve met him a few times, and know some of his friends. Good people. Down to earth. Can cuss like a sailor. Nothing phony about him at all. Tough as nails. Has that springy toughness of quick. Likes to sit outside drinking beer and barbequing. Quite athletic, like Trump. Can throw a baseball a mile.

He was a Founding Member of The House freedom Caucus. True America First! posse, in Congress. And they were so despised by neocons and dems, they kept their membership list secret. A semi-secret society of Patriots who look to The Founders intent.

THAT, to me, tells all. Neocons despise him for that. Mitch, Boehner, Ryan, etc. HATE the House Freedom Caucus. Why? Because they don’t subscribe to the Uniparty values. Crenshaw hates them, which says a lot.

Who else is in the HFC? Gaetz, MTG, Jim Jordan, Andy Biggs, Mark Meadows, Boebert, etc. A true MAGA crowd. TEA Party types. The HFC was MAGA before MAGA. Wikipedia (!) has a decenaeticle about them:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_Caucus

And Desantis helped found it. They were rebels. He’s 100% America First!

“DeSantis defeated the GOPe candidate in the Primary, and the GOPe was lukewarm at best to DeSantis during the General.”

Oh yeah, they hated him. But we campaigned our arses off for him. He was not a good public speaker, and shunned the glad handing. Just a regular guy. Not a politician.

He deployed with the SEALS, and went out on many patrols and missions, too. He won’t talk about it much.

He inspires loyalty, and definitely is a leader. And he’s friken brilliant. Surrounds himself by brilliant people, too. The legislature here would follow him through the gates of hell. Loyalty is big with Desantis.

He’s slow to anger, but you don’t want to be the one to anger him. And he doesn’t back down. But he picks fights to win, and is very deliberate.

Florida is a different State because of Desantis. We lead the nation on many difficult to solve issues, thanks to Ron.

He won’t run if Trump does. They are friends, and Ron is loyal to Don. Desantis said he’s staying for 2 terms as gov, and I believe him.

Seriously ... If anyone took your statement about DeSantis' legal work in Iraq and posted it about a Democratic candidate for public office, they'd be written off as a jabbering clown.

“FREEPERS are surely NOT the same as when I signed on in 1997.”

That’s so true. I lurked for a couple years before signing on in 2000. It was a higher level of discussion and professionalism then. Had a lot of the nation’s big conservative thinkers posting back in the day.

Remember the FReeper ball in DC after Bush won? People like Huckabee attended, as well as some to conservative pundits.

And I think it was FReeper Buckhead who broke the case of Dan Rather’s phony letter about Bush.

It was more serious then, it seems. I guess the big names have moved on to the more glitzy social media.

“This is correct and I don’t recall he’s ever claimed otherwise.”

Exactly. He has never claimed to be, I just didn’t want the rumor to get started.

FR lost a lot of good people who were purged and self-exiled during the Iraq War debacle. It’s really a shame.

Yep, I know pre-Trump my attitude was that if the Rats were against it, I had to be for it. I didn’t realize then as I do now that both parties were the enemy.

“Jesus was never part of the Swamp”

Some say that Jesus had to walk on the water because he didn’t know how to swim!

“Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good.”

“To insist on perfection often prevents the implementation of the good.”

This statement, or similar, has been attributed to various authors since Shakespeare (King Lear, 1606) and Voltaire, 1770.)

If you insist on perfection in all things, you will be unhappy and angry that all things are not as you want them to be.

Life is short, just slack off and enjoy the journey. Our short stay here will be soon forgotten, by all, after we are gone.

A native of Florida. Born in Lake County a long time ago.

Have a nice day now.

That would be wonderful, but for it to pass constitutional muster on the ballet, one of them would have to move their residence out of Florida.

I sort of knew this thread will fill with the Never Trumpers.

1) Drain the Swamp

2) Build the Wall

3) America First In All Things

That is what Republican is. What are this guy’s anti Swamp credentials? He’ll have to leave politics for 10 years to qualify.

True. I guess there were a few milestones along the way where we lost some. It IS a shame, as you say, because things always are changing and for the next issue/crisis, wvweyone easily could be on the same page again.
