If Manchin pulls this off it gives Biden the opening to brag about “this important legislative accomplishment” or some such nonsense. This is a very evil but skillful move in that the economic damage it will cause will not occur until after the midterms. I wouldn’t be surprised if Schumer helped design it.
The idea that the negative results of this would be postponed until after the midterms neglects the reaction of the markets. Wall street would tank.

Good point! I forgot how they do budgets (if they do one at all). The deficit could have been 2 zillion but they work day and night to get it down to 1 zillion. That becomes a 1 zillion deficit cut!!! Over ten years of course and all the “cuts” occur in year 10 which never happens.
