CHICAGO -- U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois said he tested positive Thursday for COVID-19 and was in quarantine with what he described as minor symptoms.
The No. 2 Senate Democrat, who said in a statement he was vaccinated and had received two coronavirus booster shots, planned to continue to work remotely.

This is significant in that they need ALL 50 Democrat Senators on the the Senate floor in person to pass Manchin's Build Back Broke II. This will cause a vote delay into next week.

It’s Durbin’s turn to ‘have COVID’ this week.
Everything’s been arranged in advance.
To: PJ-Comix
I only wish he’d be permanently quarantined.

THE HILL also had a story on this and mentioned how it affected the Senate vote on Manchin's Build Back Broke II:
Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Manchin announced on Wednesday that they had reached a deal on climate, taxes and health — considered a major breakthrough after the centrist senator had appeared to pour cold water on possible tax reform and climate provisions earlier this month.
But the timing of the positive COVID-19 tests complicates when the upper chamber might be able to vote on legislation ahead of the August recess.
The legislation is expected to be a part of a budget reconciliation package, which will require all 50 Senate Democrats present to move the legislation forward.

I think Leahy is out after hip surgery, too.
It’s conceivable that Romney or Murkowski or ... will reach across the aisle and sit out the vote.

I think Leahy is out after hip surgery, too. Actually he's had TWO hip surgeries. The latest one was very recently.

I can hear the piano and the thoughtful Oboe.

It’s conceivable that Romney or Murkowski or ... will reach across the aisle and sit out the vote. Milt R-Money might reach around the aisle.
It's just something he likes to do.

There is no remote voting in the Senate. With Sen. Manchin's sellout to the Bitem 'Spend until the country gasps for relief' agenda, does this signal the pillaging can resume? Well, not if 50 'pubbies hang together! (No 60 vote filibuster on spending bills; Sen Durbin is absent. We don't know for sure what Arizona Sen. Sinema's vote will be either.)
Divine intervention to stop the financial ruin?
