Russian strikes on Odessa port cast doubt over grain deal
AFP ^ | July 23, 2022 | Frankie Taggart

Russian missiles hit Ukraine’s port of Odessa Saturday, in what Kyiv called a “spit in the face” of a day-old deal between the warring sides to resume cereal exports blocked by the conflict.

The Ukrainian military said its air defences had shot down two cruise missiles but two more hit the port, threatening the landmark agreement hammered out over months of negotiations aimed at relieving a global food crisis.

Boris Johnson hurls grenades and handles guns in military training exercise for Ukrainian troops in UK
https://inews.co.uk/news/boris-johnson-military-training-exercise-ukrainian-troops-uk-1758813?ITO=newsnow

Interesting. An anti-defense, anti-American hippie would cry and pee his pants and chicken out if handed a grenade for the opportunity to throw it. The grenade range was one of my favorite parts of training.

“Russia is claiming it wasn’t their missiles and they are investigating the incident.”

Too funny!

Oh no, I think this quote is even more humorous:

“Zelensky said just after the deal was signed that responsibility for enforcing it fell to the United Nations...”

The UN is no enforcement at all. The UN is a eunuch.

I think the Russians would love to expand in that direction, i.e. take Odessa and extend to where they can tie into the Transnistria area (Which is essentially Russian).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transnistria

Warning to Mr. Z.

The Russians are your neighbor. They will be your neighbor even in 20 years, 50 years, 100 years. The US always does the same thing since WWII: Vietnam, Somalia, Iraq, Afghanistan. They come in and make huge promises, blow everything up... and then disappear.

Politicians in the West do not care about the promises made by their predecessors. Greed and the lust for power will make rising political stars use these issues in opposition politics, as Obama did with Iraq.

That is why we are in this place in the first place, the West didn't honor what they promised the Russians (NATO East expansion, Missile Defense, staying out of Ukraine)... Little do you or the Ukraine care about those promises since these are not to your perceived benefit. But also realize, that the West will not want to pay 1/3 of Ukraine's GDP indefinitely, the American public grows war tired fast, political turn over is high... and just like they didn't honor the promises made to the Russians, they won't honor the promises made to you, long term.

Businessmen in your shoes construct what is called a “golden parachute.”

Never discount our CIA/NeoCons, they don’t want the war to end and the will and have done everything to make sure it continues.

“Never discount our CIA/NeoCons, they don’t want the war to end and the will and have done everything to make sure it continues.”

True, but while our Deep Staters are truly evil, they are also truly stupid. We are heading into the final chapters because the will to continue is fading in NATO and even here is the U.S.

Resident
The United States is already openly demanding that the Office of the President organize a counterattack or military assistance will be stopped.

The New York Times: The West began to weaken military assistance to Ukraine due to growing doubts about the ability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defeat the Russian Armed Forces

Viktor Orban, President of Hungary: He said in his speech that the Western strategy on Ukraine has been built on four pillars - that Ukraine can win a war against Russia with NATO weapons, that sanctions would weaken Russia and destabilise its leadership, that sanctions would hurt Russia more than Europe, and that the world would line up in support of Europe.

Orban said this strategy has failed as governments in Europe are collapsing “like dominoes”, energy prices have surged and a new strategy was needed now.

“We are sitting in a car that has a puncture in all four tyres: it is absolutely clear that the war cannot be won in this way,” Orban told his supporters.

He said Ukraine will never win the war this way “quite simply because the Russian army has assymetrical dominance”.

Orban said there was no chance for peace talks between Russia and Ukraine. “As Russia wants security guarantees, this war can be ended only with peace talks between Russia and America,” he said.

Scott Ritter interview:

Q: Leaders of the Group of Seven recently pledged to stand with Ukraine “for as long as it takes.” How feasible is this pledge?

Scott Ritter: When the Group of Seven made that, one of the leaders was a guy named Boris Johnson. He’s not the leader anymore. The other guy was a gentleman whose last name was Draghi. He’s not the leader anymore. I think as the summer and the winter come along, more and more of these leaders are going to be removed from office because it’s an unsustainable policy. Politicians have a proclivity for saying things that have no basis in reality. It’s very inexpensive for a politician to say “we are going to support you forever.”

Forever in what sense? Boris Johnson is not supporting them forever – he’s out of power. Draghi is not supporting them forever – he’s out of power. And just about everybody who was on that stage at the G7 meeting will be out of power. Suddenly, we have a whole new definition of what “forever” means. It means “not now, not anymore.”

It is so obvious the deaths of Ukrainian people have no impact on Western politicians. “Keep sending Ukrainians to die in this hopeless war until we work out another plan.”

This is not the “saving of the Ukrainian people.” This is the “saving of a corrupt piggy bank for laundering payoffs to crooked Western politicians.” Ukrainians are dying by the hundreds of thousands to save a huge money-laundering operation.

I don’t think so, at least not directly. The dwarf [Putin] is so obsessed with defeating the Ukrainians that he will ignore what happens in Chechnya with the theory “I will deal with the Chechens after I’ve destroyed the Ukrainian state forever”. Kadyrov however may be forced to withdraw his Tik Tok soldiers from the Ukraine to combat the insurgency.
