Critics are lashing out after a man carrying a pistol stopped a mass shooting at an Indiana shopping mall, arguing the man should not be called a "Good Samaritan."
"The term, ‘Good Samaritan’ came from a Bible passage of a man from Samaria who stopped on the side of the road to help a man who was injured and ignored," wrote CBS4 traffic anchor Justin Kollar on Twitter Monday. "I cannot believe we live in a world where the term can equally apply to someone killing someone… my God."

For many years, I have asked outspoken pacifists how they think Jesus might have replied had he been asked what the Good Samaritan would have done had he happened along the road a bit earlier, while the attack was in progress.
Would the Good Samaritan have hidden behind a tree and watched until the attack was over and the coast was clear? This is the pacifist position.
Would the Good Samaritan have rushed to the fight and used his superior Jedi mind powers to dissuade the attackers? This is the fantasy wish fulfillment position; it’s really silly, but it has been suggested a couple of times.
Or would the Good Samaritan have thrown off his cloak, drawn his sword, and gone Rambo? Or, being sensible, do a quick count and, if badly outnumbered, run to the nearest village for help or to call out the local Roman garrison? Morally these are equivalent. They are both a resort to force; the difference between them is a matter of tactical awareness.
Pacifists don’t like this question very much.

So he’s saying that he’s mad that the shooter was killed and that more innocent people didn’t die? Okay....
Someone is drawing a bead on you u from point blank . Just as the hammer starts it short journey back another person shoots the shooter. Call him your savior if Good Samaritan won’t do.

Maybe if the original good Samaritan had arrived a few minutes earlier before or while the man he helped was being robbed the story would be far different.

Imagine their frustration that what could have been the gun to end all guns mass shooting they've been dreaming about ended up being a win for our Constitution.

He wasn’t calling the concealed carry guy a Good Samaritan because of what he did to the shooter. He was calling him that because of what he did for potential victims. Maybe this guy out to go interview some mom and her children who were there, and see what they think.
One of the comments there, is why should we let them tell us what a Good Samaritan is when they can’t even tell us what a woman is.
