Trump’s former chief of staff says he would not support him in a Republican primary

Mick Mulvaney, the White House chief of staff under former President Trump, appeared Wednesday on CNN Tonight and spoke about his old boss possibly making another run at the presidency in 2024. Mulvaney made headlines recently for being one of the few Republicans urging others to pay attention to the Jan. 6 Committee hearings, and has said they could mean trouble for the ex-president.

“What you’re seeing, I think, is folks, especially in my party, are looking at Donald Trump as damaged,” Mulvaney said, “and something that might weigh down the party going into the midterms and into 2024.”

Though he didn’t say what he would do in a national election, Mulvaney admitted that he would not support the former president in a Republican primary.

Asked if he would vote for Trump in a Republican primary, Mulaney responded, “In a primary? No. Keep in mind I got a lot of friends who are running. I’m not going to tell you who I would vote for, but there’s a lot of folks who I think would be a better candidate than Donald Trump in a Republican primary.”

Mulvaney declined to say who his preferred candidate might be, but listed several prominent Republicans who he believes are better suited for the job of president.

“I served in the state legislature with Tim Scott. Ron DeSantis and I played on the congressional baseball team together. Nikki Haley was my governor. Mike Pompeo and I served in the cabinet together. These are all my friends,” Mulvaney said. “Mike Pence and I go back 12 years. So, no, I don’t have a favorite dog in the fight, I just think that it would be healthy for the party to have really good candidates run against Trump in 2024.”

Which is why Trump sent Mulvaney away to fight for Brexit— and the sucker couldn’t because Ireland wanted to be a stick in the a@@ to the UK over .... cross border tariffs on EU produced goods coming through Ireland into the UK— or some such. The same old Irish tuggees— which stymied the UK fully Brexiting. Nigel Farage has a lot of commentary, on this, and parenthetically the useless isolated person that was Mulvaney. Mulvaney is sticking with Comey and McCabe-— and a whole lot of that “law enforcement” crook crew working for JoeBama et cie. The kind of cops scared to hell of Trump cleaning their stables— as he did back in Atlantic City— to get the mob out.

Trump was not and is not a “politician”, he is a “turnaround guy” whose business career predominately dealt with crooked unions, mob guys and politicians. He appears to to have been blindsided by the “deep state”. I, for one, had no idea of the depth of corruption in DC.(see Too Much Money which exposes the billions of taxpayer and S&P 500 bucks floating around.)

THIS TIME…He will not be using the Tillersons, etc but will staff with real conservatives like DeSantis.

He will enter office with a full program and a plan to achieve the goals.

Washington will hate him even more - especially when he moves DOJ headquarters to Yazoo, Mississippi! (no knock on the people of Yazoo - you just can’t get to Washington from Yazoo)

Keep the faith..we elected Reagan didn’t we!

They are jealous of Trump. None of them could muster the support he has. They just don’t get it. Why don’t you listen to what WE THE PEOPLE DO WANT.

I would only support DeSantis in 2024 if he had a clone like himself popular enough to keep Florida red. If not, no repube could win the Presidency anymore without Florida. Could Trump run for Florida Governor?

Keep in mind, my opinion is based on a non cheating election. I really do not think we are going to get that in any way in the midterms and beyond.

If people want to MAGA, it will be a fight by the people to save the country and themselves.

As a Florida resident I hope DeSantis stays the governor and Trump runs in 2024.

What the hell ever happened to SC’s Mick Mulvaney?? Years ago he seemed to be a really good guy. Which I’m sure is why President Trump picked him for Chief of Staff in the first place.

And yet [TRUMP] sails on, intrepid and with an aura of power that has half of America in awe, and the other half in trembling fear.
