Oil Group Mocks Biden’s Price Gouging Accusations: ‘Intern Who Posted This Tweet’ Should Take ‘Econ 101’

Joe Biden continues to deflect blame from his own energy policies for the high prices Americans are paying for gas, including by claiming gas station owners are price gouging.

“My message to the companies running gas stations and setting prices at the pump is simple: this is a time of war and global peril,” Biden tweeted on Sunday. “Bring down the price you are charging at the pump to reflect the cost you’re paying for the product. And do it now.”

The U.S. Oil and Gas Association tweeted back:

“Working on it Mr. President,” the association tweeted. “In the meantime – have a Happy 4th and please make sure the WH intern who posted this tweet registers for Econ 101 for the fall semester.”

The association also tweeted about the wisdom of using America’s bountiful energy resources.

“The U.S. Capitol has the inscription: ‘Let us developed the resources of our land, call forth its powers, build up its institutions, promote all its great interests and see whether we also in our day and generation may not perform something worthy to be remembered.’ – Daniel Webster.”

And other domestic energy advocates joined the criticism, including Western Energy:

“Claim by StateDept: Oil industry has everything it needs,” Western Energy tweeted. “Reality: What we need is a partner in the Biden Admin instead of the months-long blame game & overreaching regs like the @SECGov climate disclosure rule.”

Biden has attempted to deflect blame for the increase in gas prices to Russian President Vladimir Putin, dubbing it the “Putin’s Price Hike,” a term used repeatedly by the White House, despite his campaign promise to always take responsibility and not blame others.

I think fountain drinks and Slurpees are probably the most profitable item in all convienence stores, fast food and bars/restaurants.

That is why McDonalds made so much more profit on the Do You Want me to Supersize that value meal. The most expensive part of the drink is the cup.

Back in the early 1980s I worked in a bar with a buddy during the summers. It was closed on Mondays. Tuesday was the slowest day/night. So, my buddy came up with $2 admission from 8-10pm and free vodka drinks for that first two hours. Then they would go up $1/hr after that.
Vodka and ice tea was the most popular drink. We used the cheapest(Popov Vodka) you could buy. After a few weeks the place was packed. It became the busiest night of the week.
We kept track of exactly how much vodka we went through and how many drinks were poured. Final cost per drink including the plastic cup and mixer was $.06/drink.

Stir up food colored water with the ethanol-gas mixture and let it sit and separate. The easily seen colored water-ethanol mix will sink to the bottom. With a bottom connected valve, drain off the ethanol-water mixture and what’s left is ethanol-free gasoline. Or run a hose in thru the top to the bottom of the bottle and siphon the ethanol-water mixture off.

A number of methods can be found on Youtube. Search “removing ethanol from gasoline”.

Biden and the democrats have shutdown new oil in Alaska, the pacific and atlantic oceans and much of the Gulf of Mexico. Trying to shutdown 40% of the nations oil and gas that comes from Texas!

Cancelled Keystone pipeline that was almost finished and would have provided more then 800,000 barrels a day.
They are trying to shutdown Line 5 pipeline and it’s replacement that goes from Canada to Michigan.

Line 5 supplies 65% of propane demand in the Upper Peninsula, and 55% of Michigan’s statewide propane needs. Overall, Line 5 transports up to 540,000 barrels per day (bpd) of light crude oil, light synthetic crude, and natural gas liquids (NGLs), which are refined into propane.

LOL. No one in the White House - from the very top to the lowliest intern - knows jacksh*t about economics.

For about the past 30 years, the Democrat party has run on not knowing economics. They’ve been proud of it and understanding economics has been disqualifying.

The spot price of oil would drop right away if the companies knew those conditions would be met, since that price is based on expectations. It would take a while to show up at the point, but it would still be fairly quick. Also, OPEC might respond with lower prices to discourage US oil investment.

You’ll drop the octane rating of the gas you do that with. 87 octane gas with 10% ethanol is 85 octane gas with 0% ethanol.

ROFL. I bet that Biden still doesn’t get it and neither does his PhD sidekick. Shows the poor condition of American education. Some petroleum engineer with a sense of humor put Biden down. A home economics undergraduate could have done the same.

POTUS, POTUS, if you love your country, resign and get back into your basement.

Yes, forgot that but not sure how badly that affects small engines. For an auto, at least use an octane booster or do the extraction on 91 or 93.

Hats off to the U.S. Oil and Gas Association - - they 'get it'...

Not sure. FWIW, I use E10 in my riding mower, leave it in all winter, and it starts up every spring with a problem. Been doing this for 5 years now. I do add some fuel injector cleaner to the gas once a year.

Gasp, the fact the O&G industry has a lobbying arm changes everything! /s

Since we’ve established that you stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night, explain why the evil O&G industry wasn’t robbing us when the “evil Orange Man” was President.
