Joe Biden continues to deflect blame from his own energy policies for the high prices Americans are paying for gas, including by claiming gas station owners are price gouging.
“My message to the companies running gas stations and setting prices at the pump is simple: this is a time of war and global peril,” Biden tweeted on Sunday. “Bring down the price you are charging at the pump to reflect the cost you’re paying for the product. And do it now.”
The U.S. Oil and Gas Association tweeted back:
“Working on it Mr. President,” the association tweeted. “In the meantime – have a Happy 4th and please make sure the WH intern who posted this tweet registers for Econ 101 for the fall semester.”
The association also tweeted about the wisdom of using America’s bountiful energy resources.
“The U.S. Capitol has the inscription: ‘Let us developed the resources of our land, call forth its powers, build up its institutions, promote all its great interests and see whether we also in our day and generation may not perform something worthy to be remembered.’ – Daniel Webster.”
And other domestic energy advocates joined the criticism, including Western Energy:
“Claim by StateDept: Oil industry has everything it needs,” Western Energy tweeted. “Reality: What we need is a partner in the Biden Admin instead of the months-long blame game & overreaching regs like the @SECGov climate disclosure rule.”
Biden has attempted to deflect blame for the increase in gas prices to Russian President Vladimir Putin, dubbing it the “Putin’s Price Hike,” a term used repeatedly by the White House, despite his campaign promise to always take responsibility and not blame others.

In case you were wondering how gas stations make money, it's in the ancillary stuff.
Oil price is down 9 bucks today.
Putting water in plastic bottles and charging exorbitant prices for it had to be the most genius invention ever.
The guys who “invented” TruFuel are close behind. Take regular old gasoline without ethanol, put it in cans, and sell it for $30/gallon at Home Depot and Lowe’s.
You’ve got the facts right, but who listens to dry facts. The association’s retort was funny! Of course, how many people will get it?
Maybe they’re using bottled water to extract the ethanol. You don’t need to find ethanol-free gas. It’s pretty easy to extract the ethanol yourself with water. Some food coloring in the water makes it even easier.
“Note to the association: Talk is cheap. Put your money where your mouth is.”
Perhaps you should take Econ-101 too.
The magnitude of incompetence it the Biden government is stunning.
The Marxists making white house policy are very smart. They know exactly what they are doing. The morons they send out to explain the unexplainable not so much.
That guy is hilarious
They should have said “at Hillsdale” to really rub it in.
is there a recipe for that somewhere?
Fourth and fifth editions. :-)
Some remedial reading for you...

I'll say it again: Talk is cheap.
Biden only has to his drug-addled son Hunter to see what price gouging really looks like..../s
That remark was directed as a slight against AOC. Who claims to have a degree in Economics from BU. In reality her major degree was in International Relations(a degree akin to women studies), she did complete some Economics courses.
FYI, Wikipedia says her degree is in Econ, which is incorrect.
And who owns that rail? Warren Buffett?
Fortunately, we’ve got a new “Maverick” station not far from us that sells ethanol-free gasoline from the blue-handled pump. My small engines have never been happier!
I hadn’t thought about removing the ethanol with water. How do you do that?
I think the only companies that have made more off the Ethanol mandates are the manufacturers of Stabil, Startron, and all the other fuel additive stabilizers.
I always have a couple bottles of Startron feul stabilizer in my garage. I only buy the True Fuel at the end of the seasons when I am putting away machines for an extended period.
