Video: Trump Just Responded to Whether He Will Run in 2024 and He Thinks His Answer Will Make You 'Happy'

Former President Donald Trump dropped the strongest hint to date that he plans to run for reelection in 2024.

In a wide-ranging telephone interview with radio host and author Wayne Allyn Root last week, the 45th president assured supporters that they’ll be “very happy” with his decision.

“Are you planning to run for president? What can you say?” Root asked at the end of the interview (about the 20:40 mark of the video below).

Trump replied, “Well, you’re going to be happy, OK? You’re going to be very happy, I really believe that.”

. . . . .

Meanwhile, there’s mounting speculation that a second Trump presidential bid is all but certain.

In August 2021, former White House press secretary Sean Spicer essentially confirmed the rumors with a pithy, “He’s in.”

At this point, the timing of the announcement is probably a bigger question than whether Trump will actually run again.

Insiders — including son Eric Trump — have expressed concern about the Democrats’ malicious prosecution of his father to prevent a re-election bid.

If Trump announced his candidacy now, it would also give Trump’s political enemies more time to launch a full-frontal attack on his businesses and his supporters.

There’s also apprehension that a premature announcement could hurt the GOP by being a distraction from the 2022 midterm elections that are shaping up to be a disaster for Democrats.

. . . .

Either way, numerous Democratic strategists are terrified at the prospect of another Trump presidential campaign.

“There’s not a strategist or insider that I’m hanging out with who would like to see Donald Trump running again,” Democratic pollster Rachel Bitecofer told The Hill in October. “Nobody should think he would be a weak nominee.”

The powers that prevented Trump from winning in 2020 will not permit him to run in 2024.

Bullshit!

Those would be the same powers that said Hitlery was ahead by 7 points on the night before the 2016 election.

The outcome will not be the same in 2024.

Some of us knew Trump was running in ‘24 long ago. I’d guess those who have not pick up on this haven’t been paying attention.

“It would only work if an excellent VP is chosen. I doubt that DeSantis would accept it.”
“DeSantis would be a fool to accept, and he is very far from being a fool.“

Why? After a great run as governor he becomes VP and then he is a shoe-in as president in 2028. I don’t see the downside…

Try making a list of every major Trump appointee in the executive branch who served the entirety of Trump's first term, and did not come out of it worse than they went in.

It's going to be a really short list.

Someone as young as DeSantis with presidential aspirations has to be free to take his own position on issues, make and defend his own statements and words, etc.. But a VP is required to adopt and defend everything the President says and does, and with a chaos agent like Trump, that may put DeSantis in some difficult position

Just as an example, DeSantis was much more.of a vaccine sceptic than Trump ever was, and as Governor, was free to adopt his own policies an d speak his own mind rather than defending everything Trump said and did.

DeSantis needs the freedom of not being Trump's Vice-President.

Everything you stated is automatically defeated BY THE FACT, that if DeSantis were to challenge President Trump he would immediately lose about half of President Trump’s base.

He cannot win in 2024, even if (and he doesn’t want to), he decided to challenge Trump.

2028 he is a lock.

Other than through death or resignation, the vice presidency is not traditionally a path to the presidency. George H. W. Bush the last sitting vice president who was then elected president. Before him was Martin Van Buren.

DeSantis would be better off serving his second term as governor and then the next two years running for President.

Thanks. Good Lord. Trump has the stamina of a 40 year old. His age is not an issue. It is an advantage. Also having the experience of 4 years in office.

DeSantis would most assuredly accept an offer like that from President Trump.

Hardly. No benefit in it for DeSantis and I doubt his loyalty to Trump extends to putting his own 2028 presidential ambitions at risk.

No strong candidate announces early - it’s seen as a sign of weakness.

That would be like a rock star asking the audience if they want an encore - that’s lame. What you do is you grab your guitar and walk off the stage. Then you wait - and wait - and wait - while the audience is chanting for more.

Same with announcing your candidacy - only the weak candidates announce early.

Every benefit to DeSantis, and primarily, a shoe-in to being President in 2028.

Add to that the executive experience at the Federal Level and its something DeSantis will not turn down.

Finally, Trump and DeSantis are friends, and if Trump asks, DeSantis will gracefully accept.

You go on and on about DeSantis. Apparently you’re not smart enough to understand if he did run against Trump he’d pretty much destroy his career as a politician. That would be a really stupid move on his part.

(good question)

I’m really wondering if 2023 will be a disaster if (when) the stock market bites the big one. Oops I mean.... recession.

Yeah. That’s the ticket.

Actually, there have been 15 Vice-Presidents that went on to be President.

How many VPs have gone on to become president?

You may be right - a lot of Trump supporters likely would be petulant enough not to vote for DeSantis in the general election if he won the nomination.

So perhaps running against Trump would be just as bad an idea as being his Vice-Presidential running mate.

History says otherwise.

DeSantis will have 8 years executive experience at the state level. Four years on anonymity in a do nothing job won't be better than that.

Finally, Trump and DeSantis are friends, and if Trump asks, DeSantis will gracefully accept.

Don't count on it. When ambition is involved friendship means nothing. DeSantis wants to be president. He's not going to let anything get between him and that.
