Chicago Police Deputy Chief Migdalia Bulnes went to Camp Pendleton near San Diego, California , where 9,000 Marines become civilians every year, to replenish the city's police force, and took six former Marines who are now officers to help in the recruitment, she said Thursday. The department has recently hired 50 new officers but still needs more to operate fully, according to CBS.
"The reality is that we need to fill the gaps quickly," Bulnes said.

During my oldest son's Senior year at Western IL University (a top 5 university for Criminal Justice) in 2019, the Chicago Police Department was on campus for two days recruiting graduates.
They received ZERO Interest.
CPD gets zero support from the Mayor's office, and has for a very long time now. Lesbian Licker Liberal Lori Lightfoot has made that problem exponentially worse during her (hopefully) first and only term.
I don't see CPD ever turning around or having enough on force. Their reputation and Chicago is THAT BAD.

Are they sure the US Marines are woke enough for them. The ones I’ve known over the last 50 years were trained to kill people and break stuff severely. Oh, and they were good at it too. If that’s what they want, things will warm up In Chicago.

I would have expected the National Guard to be chosen for such an assignment. There are lots of National Guard, and not a huge number of Marines.
I typically put (Street Name: Five-L) after the Lesbian Licker Liberal Lori Lightfoot and have done that for the past 2+ years and no one's ever picked up on it. You're the first. :-)

While you can argue that US Marines will put up with a lot to do their duty. I don’t know any that would put up with any more than they must. Why is it assumed that a Marine—more than anyone else—would want to be a Chicago cop and put up with anti-police policies, defunding, and abuse from those they would serve for simply being one and doing their job?
Any Marine signing on with CPD... is not a Marine you want serving in any PD.
That’s an ominous sign for Chicago, They’re recruiting people already trained to be a hierarchy and to unquestionably obey commands.
Why would anybody submit to the orders of that vile dwarf, Mayor Beetlejuice? Not a good career move.
So during the peaceful protests of the BLM Burn Loot and Murder of 2020 They would allow the national guard in now they want the marines. Send them the transgender, gay and lesbian Platoon that run from fire works
