‘It’s bad’: Eric Adams admits being ‘shocked’ by the sorry state of NYC

Mayor Eric Adams had no idea how rotten the Big Apple was at its core before taking office — telling The Post he was “shocked” to learn just “how bad this place is.”

During an exclusive interview conducted as Adams rode the subways overnight for more than three hours last week, the former NYPD transit cop said he was astounded by the botched “deployment of resources” that has New Yorkers on edge amid a nearly 40 percent surge in major crimes this year.

“Let me tell you something: When I started looking into this, I was shocked at how bad this place is,” he said of the city.

Adams — who campaigned on a promise to restore order to an increasingly lawless Gotham — said the scales fell from his eyes when he began reviewing internal city operations following his swearing in moments after midnight on New Year’s Day.

These people run for office for the paycheck. Few politicians give a damn about anything other than their salary and retirement benefits.

In other words, the minute he was elected mayor he knew he was in over his head. Wow, this will have people wishing they had DeBlasio in office still.

Just where has he been?

Living in a gated community, driven to where ever he wants to go, surrounded by body guards and having all his needs met by flunkies.

Whether in government or media, they do not live in the same world you and I do.

He should ask the mayor to do something about it.

He’s been out partying at all the trendy nightspots.

So he rides the subway and looks around and sees the obvious.

Big whoop.

"Just where has he been?"

I'd say his head has been up his ass, but he's obviously lying that he wasn't aware how how bad the city was. You'd have to be dead not to have noticed the crime and economic problems created by Democrats. He's conveniently playing dumb, because he has no f*cking idea on how to fix any of it.

Aah, don’t believe it. I lived in or very near NYC between 2009 and 2015, went into the city on a daily basis, and it is wonderful. WONDERFUL. When I first moved there, I thought I had wasted the first fifty years of my life. (I know, that dates me pretty good, doesn’t it!)

Now, when Eric talks about the city, he’s talking about Brooklyn and the Bronx, as well as Queens and Staten Island. I’m sure there are pockets of awfulness, as there were when I was there. I’m talking about Manhattan. Manhattan is the center of the universe, no lie.

Yeah, he was a real cop and in touch with the city. He’s just another illiterate affirmative action piece of schiff.

If anyone wants proof positive that Adams is and will continue to be a failure, the just look at his name. It has a (D) next to it. Only the galactically stupid would expect any other result.

If he didn’t look into it before he entered the race for Mayor, or during the time he was campaigning, then he’s either the dumbest f*ck, a f*cking liar, or the dumbest lying f*ck ever.

After saying all of the following, Bill Clinton backed away from promised tax relief once he became Prexy.

Said something about “trying my hardest” i er a span of weeks but finding the campaign promise impossible to fulfill.

Is the NYC mayor is doing something similar here? 🤔

__________

Back in 1992, candidate Bill Clinton also proposed a middle-class tax cut. He was not going to be another Walter Mondale promising tax hikes. It was a pretty hot issue in the primaries. From the Washington Post in February of that year:

Former Massachusetts senator Paul E. Tsongas and Arkansas Gov. Bill Clinton, careening toward a wild finish in Tuesday’s Democratic primary here, opened the final weekend of campaigning in a sharp dispute over middle-class tax cuts. Tsongas, campaigning relentlessly as a “pro-business Democrat,” told reporters today that if he were president, he would veto a House Democratic proposal that would give tax credits of up to $400 to most Americans. He said the proposal grew out of polling data, not sound economics. “If that is where the Democratic Party wants to go, either by the {presidential} candidates or the congressional leadership, then leave me out,” he said after visiting a computer software company in Nashua.

Clinton, who appeared to have regained some of his footing after a battering over his draft record, staged a photo opportunity at a Manchester supermarket to emphasize his belief that tax cuts for the middle class would help stimulate the economy and put food on most Americans’ tables. “Paul Tsongas says a middle-class tax cut is pandering,” Clinton said. Pointing to several grocery carts filled with food, he added, “This is not pandering . . .I’m going to rescue the middle class.”
