I understand that sentiment. I think about the environment we are in where they want homosexual partners who get their hands on a baby to BOTH have three months off, which is anathema to me.
But, I support many aspects of policy in and out of the government that support a man and a woman trying to raise a child. I don’t have children, but...if my taxpayer dollars are spent to improve and assist the process of raising children, even though I don’t have any skin in that game...well, I feel that I should be supporting those efforts.
To me, though, three months for both mother and father seems like complete and total fiscal and corporate insanity.
But hey, what do I know?
I do understand your point, though. I understand this argument, especially with things like Health Care. In the end, I look at both of those things as corporate incentives, even though they have been somewhat mandated, which I fully understand the view that they should never have been.
And I do want to add-taxpayer money is more likely to be wasted than it is to be used wisely. I fully accept that.
