Separation of synagogue and state?
To: Oldeconomybuyer
article:
"The Jewish faith holds the right to an abortion to be inviolable." I don't recall this being engraved on the tablets handed to Moses on Mount Sinai.
And let's not even get started on the insane nonsense which mudslums believe to be inviolable.

It's one thing to say one's religion permits abortion, but does Judaism
require it?
I grew up Jewish (before 1973) and I never heard of this doctrine.

Yeah and Islam requires the elimination of Jews, others can be enslaved or killed for not converting, but them Jews just need a killing. How about themz laws you idiots. Half of the Bible is written about and for the Jews and their perpetual rejection of God who chose them to be his people. What lost fools.

The Jewish faith holds the right to an abortion to be inviolable. No it doesn't. That claim is revisionism.

If that’s true that would mean that Jews would be forcing their religion on the citizens of Florida.
That being said : I don’t believe the premise . Abortion isn’t part of the Jewish faith, even if a lot of them support it.

Here’s everything you need to know about this “synagogue”. Instead of a typical “about” page, they have a “Bill of Rights” with about 20 platitudes. What is missing is any mention of G-d or the Torah. This is a completely secular institution. Consequently, I would not call it a Jewish synagogue but a Liberal Temple.

Nowhere in the Bible does it address abortion. Complete BS lawsuit. They should be ashamed. Why don’t they tell their female worshipers to try birth control (many options) instead of filing another dead end lawsuit.

That HAS to be a Reform "synagogue". Their statement is a load of hooey. They don't know the first thing about Jewish law, picking and choosing the ones they like and ignoring the ones they feel inconvenience them. Jewish law only permits abortion in rare instances, on a case by case basis which must be individually parsed by a learned rabbi. The only permitted reason for an abortion is if the life of the mother would be in serious jeopardy if the pregnancy were continued.

“If a foetus poses a threat to the health or emotional well-being of its mother, at any stage of gestation up until birth, Jewish law not only entitles but requires the mother to abort the pregnancy and protect herself,” the suit argues. Unreal.
Sounds like something 0bammy would write. Can't be 'punished with a baby', and all.

those Jews in FL need to move to CA. Get lost.

I can’t imagine that Orthodox Jews would support abortion.

Having an abortion is not a religious ritual.

“The Jewish faith holds the right to an abortion to be inviolable.”
Well, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob does not.
To: Oldeconomybuyer
Best outcome of non-Torah Jews trying this sh*t is Orthodox Jews will (hopefully loudly) announce to all that this isn’t in accord with Jewish Halakhah, Jewish Torah-based law. Maybe those self-obsessed Jews will come to the realization that they are NOT following the Torah.
I have even more respect for President Reagan, because he had Orthodox Jews advising him on Halachah.
To read that article that said Pres Reagan had Orthodox Jewish advisors, check keyword Torah.

The American Jew and the Jews of the rest of the world are two completely different things.
