Based on a casual reading of the polls, Donald Trump looks to have smooth sailing to the Republican presidential nomination in 2024 and the chance to erase the stink of losing to Joe Biden that he so covets. But if that’s the case, why does Trump seem so panicky these days? Simple: Trump is in trouble, and — when you dig into the numbers — his grip on the GOP nomination is getting more tenuous. It is Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) who has all the momentum.

Does Trump not have residences in other states? Easy enough to announce a change of domicile the day before the election. Poof...no more problem.
Let's hope so. Right now I'd say there is a zero chance of meeting the goal of the current fund raiser - 87% met with 4 days to go. Too many of those and I imagine FR would have to go away for financial reasons if nothing else.

That's basically what Cheney did in 2000 so no, it's not going to be a problem. Less so since I don't see a Trump/DeSantis ticket in 2024. It'll be Trump and someone else.

DeSantis and Trump are the two heavyweights in the party and DeSantis is well aware that campaigning against Trump would only cause more division. He will wait his turn and hopefully we will have 12 years of conservative leadership.

I'd say there's a zero percent chance that Ron DeSantis would run on a third party spoiler ticket if he didn't earn the Republican nomination.

Agree, it’s the anti-Trump tone that makes them suspect.
The days sure are strange when someone supporting a conservative like Desantis are considered trolls (especially since we don’t know if Trump is running) but some support the likes Oz and are not.
DeSantis has made Florida great again. He should continue.
