Trump’s not going to announce until he knows for sure whether he’ll have a sizable majority in the house and senate.
Thank you, Captain Obvious.
I want DeSantis to run against Trump.
Lets see what the young Ivy League Bull is made of.
The Orange Elephant will win, but this could be entertaining.
DeSantis has nothing to gain to challenge Trump for the nomination and everything to lose.
If Trump runs, win or lose, DeSantis will be president in 2028.
If Trump chooses not to run, DeSantis will be president in 2024.
DeSantis only loses if he chooses to fight Trump for the nomination, in which case he will never be president.
listen to Trump’s new theme song. I think this is pretty good indication he’s running. His previous theme song was You can’t Always Get what You Want was a message to the GOP establishment, and I think this new theme song is his message to us:
Hold on I’m coming

Anybody who was actually listening rather than wishing as hard as they could knew DeSantis was not going to run if Trump runs. DeSantis has been saying it for some time. All he has to do is govern Florida for one more term and then he will inherit the Trump base with Trump’s full backing.
I live about 10 miles from Mar a Lago. The rumor I hear is a first week in November announcement and is running. My personal opinion was that he wouldn’t run. What do I know?
Any majority won't be known until the 2024 elections. The GOP may have majorities coming out of 2022 but they probably won't be sizable, especially in the Senate. So waiting for that reason is self-defeating.
They both can’t run. They’re from the same state.
Perfect!
Yeah but DeSantis hasn’t said it damn it!

desantis is currently running for reelection for florida governor this year (2022)...
if he wins reelection in november this year he will be sworn in january 2023...
people are dreaming if they believe he’s starting a presidential campaign in 2023...
Trump can reestablish his New York address.
Nothing prevents both from running for president. If both are on the same ticket then one of the two, likely Trump, would have to register in a separate state otherwise they can't win Florida's electoral votes.
And as a trivia note, if it is a Trump/DeSantis ticket and Trump made his home of record Bedminster then he'd be the first presidential candidate to make three runs for the office, all from different states.
see post #15...
Trump has said he's not going to announce until after the midterms ---- due to campaign finance laws.
