Good you say ? let me guess you have had all your mrna and booster shots. “I can’t wait to teach nuclear armed Russia a lesson.” Our pathetic military with all its funding did so great against a bunch of goat lovers. The Taliban beat us after 20 years of bombing men women and children and spending close to 3 trillion dollars. I would expect Russia to beat our pussy allies and our pathetic military for the simple fact we only know how to fight people who don’t have weapons. I hope Russia steam rolls Europe. America is the bad guy now , maybe we always were.

"Cry havoc and let loose the dogs of war"

I think there is something about no one knows where the dogs will run once let loose. Perhaps the neocons install, not elected, in DC might want to think about that. Does India and China sit by and watch NATO humiliate Russia? I think not. What about Mexico?

Lithuania versus Russia. Now that war would be over before it started.

Lithuania is in NATO

Within the Western governments, there are a neocon faction and a pragmatist faction, or hawks and doves. The dovish faction is represented by Henry Kissinger and some opinion writers in the legacy media that support negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. The hawkish faction hopes to turn Ukraine into a second Afghan War. They believe that Putin’s Russia can collapse as Gorbachev’s USSR did under the weight of a foreign war. The provocation by Lithuania shows that the hawkish faction is in the ascendancy. As Russia appears unable to defeat the Ukrainians quickly, the hawks feel that Russia is in no position to combat NATO provocation.

“The elites hate this war, but their populations hate Russia more, so the elites are stuck.”

The disconnected illogic in your last paragraph (not only the last sentence above) makes me wonder how you can write with crayons without eating them first. Good thing you have a keyboard instead of only crayons, so we can all slowly shake our heads in awe at your sheer stupidity.

Stop watching tv news, you sound so brainwashed its scary. I suppose you still think Russia influenced the 2016 election and President trump is a Russian agent.

Russia is moaning and whining about something again.

This is the state of a repressed and despondent former power.

They won’t do a damn thing.

They are all using unpinned hand grenades as dice in a game of chance that can result in nuclear war if 1. any player guesses wrong, or 2. if fate throws in an unseen twist.

A classic example of an ad hominem attack that completely ignores the substantive arguments made. If you can't address the argument substantively, then you're better off not responding at all.

And for what it's worth, I haven't watched TV news in years. I read.

That's ridiculous. Everyone loses in a world war.

Silly man, not everyone loses. Take the US as an examble we won our independence via war. We won Texas and the southwest via war. There are winners and there are losers. And no one knows prior to a big war just who is going to win and who is going to lose.

Assuming Russia truly is winning in Ukraine, why the hell would they risk snatching defeat from the jaws of victory by pulling in NATO, simply to get some industrial materials to Kaliningrad?

I think this is knee-jerk posturing by Russia especially after the recent diplomatic kerfuffle about Russia talking about "revoking the independence" of Lithuania.

I think that Russia will decide that now is not the time to settle this by force. They want to win the war in Ukraine first and then deal with other matters such as this. So they may elect to wait, hoping that the sanctions will be removed. If so, there is no need to take further action as Lithuania will abide by the treaty provisions once again. If not, then they will have a lot of troops freed up with which they can threaten Lithuania. In such a case, Lithuania may elect to withdraw their enforcement of the sanctions due to the presence of a large number of Russian troops on their border.

Totally agree. With hundreds of warheads there, it will be a dirty bomb center. The only good thing is that the winds typically blow to the east from there.

“Everyone loses in a world war.”

Again, a childishly simpleton answer from you. You’ve learned nothing from history. Put down the crayons and pick up a book on history and learn why that was a really ignorant statement.

Russia also has huge underground facilities under the Ural Mountains. They are already in survival mode.

This crisis is a direct result of the Deep State/Globalists preventing DJT and Putin from even meeting. DJT and Putin would have come to an understanding and had a realistic relationship.

I know its not a laughing matter.
In fact, as you point out, its deadly serious, and some very unserious people are playing dangerous games. I pretty much ignore the usual suspects on this forum, because they provide nothing of value.
One of them actually made a statement to the effect of welcoming a nuclear exchange as long as Russia gets taken out. Talk about being detached from reality.

I can imagine the deliberations in certain circles in DC, and suspect they see such a war having nothing but benefits--take their policy f-ups off the front page, blame ongoing privation on an external 'enemy', and an excuse to crush 'internal dissent', framed as subversives acting in the interests of the same external enemy.

Ukraine isn't working, so now they're trying to goad Russia in another fashion. Sure, Putin is not to be trusted, but we have our fair share of villains on "our" side.

And yet another guy who can't/won't address any substance....

Do you think the leftist European elites wanted to cancel Nordstream 2? Trump tried for years to get them to cancel it, and they refused. But guess what - this war cancelled it.

Do you think Angela Merkel and her ilk wanted to restart coal-fired plants in Germany? That's the exact opposite of what they've been pushing for for decades, yet it is happening.

What the elites actually wanted was for this war to be over fast. If Ukraine lost a couple of eastern provinces and Crimea, it's no big deal. No loss at all to the global elites, no war, Nordstream 2 and cheap Russian energy forges ahead. That is exactly what they wanted and have been pushing for years. Instead, their green energy initiatives are collapsing because of a war they never wanted.

Look at the actual data for God's sake. European countries have tried to appease their populations by promising all sorts of assistance to Ukraine, but they've delivered virtually none of it. Brexit Boris and the Poles have done most of the heavy lifting for Ukraine, and they are the ones the elites despise.

My friend your viewpoint is obsolete. Russia has been threatening its neighbors for hundreds of years. It is the reason why NATO still exists. It is a common defense for threats just like Russia represents.

“America and NATO have not made a similar policy declaration.”

I can say with absolute knowledge that we have a first use policy to use nuclear weapons first. Anyone even remotely familiar with nuclear weapons in the USAF knows this. The F-111’s at RAF Lakenheath were there to use tactical nukes to stop a Soviet advancement across Germany and the Baltic Sea. It was just one of many tactical nuclear bases.
