Not enough pilots.

Yes there is a pilot shortage. My BIL, retired Navy flier and out of the cockpit for over five years, just hired back on with Southwest. But if an airline doesn't have pilots and crews, why schedule flights it knows it cannot staff?!

Not only are they cancelling flights, they are booking to the max, or overbooking based on some kind of algorithm that tells them how many folks may not show up.

I am glad that this reporter could go to Flight Aware to find out that both Juneteenth and Fathers Day fall on Sunday this year.

Twenty years ago who would’ve predicted there would be a national holiday named in the language of jive.

I work for a 121 carrier with our own maintenance base, it’s also a shortage of mechanics too. After the vaccine mandate we cut a lot of our contractors and in house people as well, and the owners of the company insist on 100 percent jabbed, even after SCOTUS torpedoed it.

I’m a commercially rated Pilot , gave it up 10 years ago. The way Pilots rolled over for the jab is pathetic. God bless those who told them to F off.. mechanics and others who did also

That’s what the government does with any issue. They create the problems, blame anyone but themselves, and then say, hey, let us help you with that problem (which they say they didn’t create, but they did). It’s an endless cycle.
