New Poll: Dem John Fetterman leads Mehmet Oz in Pennsylvania Senate race despite poor Biden approval
Fox News ^ | 6/15/2022 | Brandon Gillespie

A new poll released Wednesday showed Pennsylvania's Democratic Lt. Gov. John Fetterman with a lead over Republican nominee Mehmet Oz in the race to be the state's next U.S. senator.

The poll, conducted June 10-13 by Suffolk University, also showed Pennsylvania voters overwhelmingly disapproved of President Biden's job performance, while only 15% rated the state of the U.S. economy as "good."

Fetterman and Oz are running to succeed retiring GOP Sen. Pat Toomey in the key general election battleground state. The race is one of a handful across the country that will likely determine if the Republicans win back the Senate majority in November's midterms.

According to the poll, 46% of LIKELY PENNSYLVANIA VOTERS said they would SUPPORT FETTERMAN to represent the state in the Senate, while 37% said they would vote for Oz. Thirteen percent of respondents said they were undecided, while the rest said they would support other candidates.

Fetterman, who spent his primary night in a hospital bed following a stroke, easily defeated his Democratic challengers, while Oz, who was endorsed by former President Donald Trump, squeaked past Republican rival Dave McCormick.

Biden's approval rating was sharply underwater in the key swing state that could also determine the presidency following the 2024 election.

“I tried to warm all you damn fools who kept pushing the ridiculous electability line around OZ he was a turd and Fetterman would eat him for breakfast and crap him out by lunch…”

A lot of us voted for Kathy Barnette, a true conservative.

This is about way more than Pennsylvania

The voters, however, all live there.

Permit me to add something to my post #30. “Pennsyltucky” is a real thing. Folks there are socially conservative. They hunt, fish, and follow NASCAR. They liked Reagan. And they like Trump. And they should be voting against the Biden economy.

But as you noted, many will be voting against the carpetbagger Turk instead.

And Trump doesn’t. I get it.

> Trump endorsement of this guy was a absolutely bad call.. he should have endorsed Barnette… <

Barnette was a very good choice. But she was unpolished, and fell into a number of traps. She needed help from Trump and Co. She never got it. We’ll pay for that come November.

I’m not in PA, but recall, that many here had problems with each of the three major Republican candidates.

Which in turn meant that, no matter who ended up winning the GOP nomination, that people would criticize the choice and bemoan how the Democrats would win that Senate seat by default.

I don’t know if there is a problem recruiting good conservative candidates, or how to overcome these problems. Hate to see a Democrat win by default.

Pennsylvania would rather have a far-left nut who spent primary night in a cardiac ICU ward than the republican.

Are you kidding? Democrats and other fools elect dead people when necessary.

“But as you noted, many will be voting against the carpetbagger Turk instead.”

Many of us Pennsylvanians also don’t want a socialist senator like Fetterman. We already have Casey as one of our liberal senators.

I would urge the PA GOP to bone up on PA Election law regarding what happens when a nominee dies or becomes incapacitated prior to election day.

Wonder if it would help if Oz denounced his Turkish citizenship BEFORE the general election?

The question is who’d you rather have represent you, a medical doctor or a recent stroke patient?

Those debates are gonna be fun to watch.

You took yourself off the voter rolls?

Wow, the liberals love you. Any conservative/Republican voter who won’t even participate anymore, is an additional vote for them.

These pieces of crap articles are to provide plausibility after the steal.

Indeed they are.

It's why you keep seeing "Trump's baseless and unfounded claims of vote fraud" articles everywhere.

Those are for the continued conditioning of the rubes.

Barnette was making things up.

Oz is much more phony than Barnette. I think she’s an easier target for criticism because she’s a woman.

At least she not Muslim, she actually lives in the state where she’s running, isn’t BFF of Oprah, and is anti-transgender. How does that make her worse than Oz?

Suffolk University ? That’s in Massachusetts, right ?

I’m sure that their poll-takers are completely non-partisan, and have their fingers on the pulse of Pennsylvania.
