Reasonable and effective solution. Take volunteers from school staff, who wants to carry concealed. May have 5 volunteers, may have 40. Give them training and protocols to follow.
Nobody knows who they are except the other teachers and staff. Kids, parents, no one else has a need to know.
But everyone knows, that every school, has people on staff carrying, and if you go in there brandishing a weapon you are going to get shot pretty quick.
Install gun wall safes throughout the school like fire extinguishers. Have the safes labeled as lethal (firearms) and non-lethal (tasers), and have them be fingerprint activated with all the qualified teachers' fingerprints programmed into the safes.
Furthermore, whenever a lethal weapon safe is opened, automatically notify the local PD to respond.
The caller said the technology is there, it's just a matter of getting it into the schools.

School shootings are very rare.
There are maybe 500 million class days a year and aside from media induced copycat shootings, maybe a Parkland/Sandy Hook/Uvalde mass shooting every five years or so, or a big one in every 2.5 billion class days.
What is the chance of leaving a gun safe unlocked?
Police can be at a school in about two minutes and have repeatedly updated shooting skills.
