Warships from the U.S. Navy sailing off the coast of California in 2019 were swarmed by drones from a nearby Hong Kong cargo ship on multiple occasions, the Navy has revealed.
The incidents were all reported between March 30, 2019 and July 30, 2019. Seven different vessels were involved.
One of the warships reported in their official memo that the Hong Kong ship was observing them, noting: 'MV Bass Strait likely using UAVs (unidentified aerial vehicles) to conduct surveillance on US Naval Forces'.

“UAVs (unidentified aerial vehicles)”
Unidentified?
Isn’t the U in UAV for unmanned?
I’m confused after issuing a warning to the vessel operating the drones to stop, shoot the drones down and send a notice, approach a US Navy warship is done at your own risk
So they know what the ship was, so how’s it mysterious? The inflated word salads the media spewws is just down right nauseating.
Hmmm. I’d not heard/read about this incident until now.
I’m thinking this was a hostile act and the drones should have been eliminated immediately. Russians and or Chinese would never allow this against one of their ships.
Makes us sound like wimps, if you believe it. Did it take them this long to figure out, or were they just too frightened to engage at the time, seems to be what they’re begging.
Yes, we are not discussing brain surgery here. Shoot them down. Why is this so hard to figure out?
Why weren’t they blown out of the sky?
Why weren’t they blown out of the sky?
The Naval vessel should have boarded and seized the spy ship like the Norks did with the Pueblo.
Oh No! NOT the SWARMING DRONES!
Save me Elvis!

Likely they were testing our ability to shoot them. Maybe they were looking for laser weapons or how our radar was at fast tracking multiple small targets. Or maybe they were joping we’d fire and maybe hit a pleasure boat 2 miles away and create a lede for the 6:30 news.
As you may know, Drone swamps are actually part of the future naval battlefield, whereby they overwhelm a ship’s radar ability to track incoming objects. It’s like throwing a net over them to blind what may be more dangerous in the background, even if he drones aren’t armed themselves.
Drone swarms, sorry.
Why was a shoot down order not given. Too busy painting the rainbow flag on side of ship
16th Streeters often think alike....or perhaps it’s just our age.
“Drone swamps are actually part of the future naval battlefield”
I had a picture of a drone sitting on a Lily pad.
And I bet they will be controlled the Skynet's AIs too!
Doomed! Doomed! We're all DOOMED I Tell You!

My post was meant to be sarcastic, of course you shoot them down.
